Bean Cemetery

(AKA - New Bean Cemetery or Gamaliel Cemetery)

 

Located in Gamaliel City limits just off Highway 101 on Baxter County Road 241. There is a sign on Highway 101 in Gamaliel showing where to turn. The Bean cemetery was relocated in the early 1940s when the Norfork Dam was built. A well cared for cemetery still being used to day, April 2001. This is a list of the names from the old Bean Cemetery said to have been relocated to the Hawkins Ridge Cemetery. This cemetery may be just over the Missouri Line. The number of people here match the number of cement blocks with the word unknown on top, located in the west end of this "New" Bean Cemetery. OR were they moved from the Hawkins Cemetery to the "New" Bean Cemetery. Not sure which cemetery they were moved to. These names came from the list of the U. S. Engineers of graves being moved.
