Sarah Lavinie "Viney" Auld Nolan Burks

"Viney" was a daughter of John W. Auld and Jane "Jenny" B. Johnson. She was born May 11, 1883 in Farmerville, Union Parish, Louisiana.

On February 20 1898 she married William M. Nolan, also of Farmerville, Union Parish, Louisiana. They had two children in Louisiana before moving to Bradley County, Arkansas in 1901.

William Nolan(d) recieved a land patent issued December 30, 1905, in Bradley County, Arkansas, 120 acres

William Nolan died April 14, 1914, leaving Viney a young widow with four children, Hattie Lou, Lillie Mae, Pansy Ilda and Troy Garland Nolan. They had seven children, but three had died very young, John Henry, Lennie Bea and Emmet Audley Nolan.

On April 11, 1915, Viney married a widower, William "Bill" Asbury Burks. (He was twice widowed.) They had two children, Horace Fennon and Audrey Catherine "Kat" Burks.

William Burks died October 26, 1917, before the birth of his daughter Kat. He is buried in Moseley Cemetery in Bradley County, Arkansas, along with his first two wives.

Viney was again a widow, now with six children, plus some of Bill's children from his previous marriage. Viney never again married. She raised her children and lived a long life in Bradley County, and died June 14, 1965. She and her first husband William M. Nolan are buried in McFarland Cemetery in Banks, Bradley County, Arkansas.

Emma Idella "Della" Davidson Miller Loomis

Della was a daughter of Wesley Camp Davidson, Jr. and Minerva E. Hayes. She was born July 16, 1897 in Blount County, Alabama. The Davidsons moved to Arkansas about 1891.

On March 21, 1915 Della was married to Charles Victor Miller. They had one daughter, Leona Mae Miller. The story goes that Della's parents must not have liked Charles Miller. Charles had gone to find work and was going to send for Della and their daughter Leona. The letters he sent to Della, her parents kept from her. Her parents then had the marriage annulled.

Della then married a widower, Emmit Everett Loomis on November 19, 1916.
Emmit had seven children with his first wife, *Ollie Jane Auld. Their children were Annie Mae, Bertie Irene and Onie Inez, and four children who died young, Ouita P., baby Son and Daughter Twins and another Baby Son. Ollie died just 18 days after the stillbirth of the Baby Son. She is buried in McFarland Cemetery in, Banks, Bradley County, Arkansas, as are her babies.

Together, Della and Emmit had seven children, Agnes Minerva, Robert "Bud" E. Lee, Reba Modeana, Effie Estelle, William "Bill" Terrell, Jewel Dean and a Baby boy who died at birth.

Emmit Loomis died March 1, 1937 leaving Della with several children to raise. He is buried in McFarland Cemetery in Banks, Bradley County, Arkansas

Della married for the last time much later, on March 22, 1960 to Bob Anderson Cox. When he died November 10. 1977, Della went to live beside her daughter Leona. Charles Miller (Leona's father) returned to Arkansas several years after Della had married Mr. Cox. He had kept up with Leona and Della through his sister. Charles Miller died two years later on November 19, 1979 and is buried in Moseley Cemetery in Bradley County, Arkansas.

Della died August 25, 1989 and is buried in McFarland Cemetery in Banks, Bradley County, Arkansas

Although Viney and Della have no direct relationship, Della was the step-mother of Viney's three surviving nieces.
