AKIN CEMETERY NOTES
submitted by Nick Nielsen

"I believe that the reason it is called the Akins Cemetery is that Violet and William Akins
are buried there, but there are no markers (just a guess).

William Akins's Daughter Irena married Thomas Coker, and Thomas Coker's son, John Coker married
Mary E. Unknown, and the three Coker children in the Cemetery are children of John and Mary E. Coker.

The Nixon family buried in the cemetery is an unrelated family that lived next door to the
Akins and Coker families, and I think they just used the Akins Cemetery because it already existed.

The Akins and Coker families had places near the cemetery in 1850 - 1860."
