Morgan Outlaw

Morgan Outlaw, 68, of Hamburg died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at his residence. A native of Ingalls, a resident of the Milo community outside Hamburg since 1968 and a former resident of Bradley County, he retired in 2002 from the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill after 32 years of service in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Egypt Baptist Church, a charter board member of the Milo Riding Club, a member of the Ashley County 4-H Foundation and a past 4-H leader with the Ashley County Horse & Pony Club. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, a member of the Ashley County and Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and the Arkansas Chuck Wagon Association. Mr. Outlaw was an avid horseman, with interest in gaited horses, cutting horses, wagon racing and trail riding with mules. His hobbies included trail riding on a favorite mule, restoring antique wagons, building saddles, harnesses and other leather works.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Lonsberry Outlaw of Hamburg; a son, Greg Outlaw and wife Rhonda of Tilley; a daughter, Felecia Cope and husband Lavon of Fountain Hill; four brothers, James E. Outlaw and wife Nina of Crossett, Keith E. Outlaw and wife Jeannie of Hermitage, Henry A. Outlaw of Mount Holly and David M. Outlaw and wife Patricia of Hermitage; four sisters, Linda Curtis and husband J. R. of Hensley, Elizabeth White and husband Gordon of El Dorado, Betty Butler and husband Robert of Pine Bluff and Ann Belt and husband Marion of Sheridan; four grandchildren, Thane Cope and wife Krin, Brittany Outlaw, Monroe Cope and Chase Outlaw; three brothers-in-law, Danny Lonsberry and David Lonsberry and wife Sandy, all of Longview, TX., and Mike Lonsberry and wife Amy of Gunterville, AL.; 34 nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. and Lena Estelle Smith Outlaw; and a sister, Joyce Riley.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 20, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Revs. Waymon Mann & Buddy Boykin officiating. Pallbearers were Frankie Weaver, Philip Jones, Johnny Dixon, George Roy Rodgers, Harold Rogers, Bill Manning, Thomas Glen Childers and Burl Mills. Honorary pallbearers were the boiler room maintenance crew of the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill. Burial was in the Outlaw Cemetery in Bradley County.
