Newton C. Wear

N. C. Wear, aged 74, died at the home of his daughter in Wilmar, Friday evening, Aug. 31, (1934). He was born in Conway, Sept. 20, 1860, and moved here in 1870. He was a member of the Baptist church and W. O. W. lodge. On February 23, 1884, he married Miss Julia Singer of Warren. Mr. Wear is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Nixon of Hermitage and Mrs. E. E. Neely of Wilmar; six sons, J. W. Wear and Carl Wear of Houston, Texas, Paul Wear and Arthur Wear of Warren, Donald Wear of Little Rock and Hoyle Wear of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, H. T. Wear of Warren and 14 grand children. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Hickory Springs cemetery by Rev. M. E. Cole, pastor of the Warren Baptist church.
