AGNES CREED ROWELL (June 7, 1910-July 5, 1997)

Warren –– Agnes Creed Rowell, 87, of Warren, died July 5, 1997, at Pine Lodge Nursing Home.
Born June 7, 1910, at Gravelridge (Bradley County), she was a daughter of the late W.E. “Chuck”
Creed and Mary Ada Givens Creed. The was a former school teacher, a retired nurse and member of
Immanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. B. [Tony Buster] Rowell, who
died May 4, 1988, and a son Bailey Rowell, who died June 23, 1956. Survivors include a daughter
Rose Mary Garner of Warren; three brothers, K.G. Creed of Bastrop, Louisiana, P.K. Creed of
Crossett and Paul Creed of Camden; two sisters, Gladys Rowell of Mobile, Alabama, and Ruth Nutt
of Thornton (Calhoun County); two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Funeral services are scheduled
for 4 p.m. Monday at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be
one hour prior to the service.

DOYLE BAILEY ROWELL (January 23, 1933-June 23, 1956)

Headline: Bailey Rowell, 23, Dies at Warren
Warren (Spl.) – Bailey Rowell, 23, a former Warren policeman and Warren High School letterman,
died at his home here this morning after an extended illness. He was more recently employed as an
insurance salesman. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Patricia Riley
Rowell and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Rowell. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Frazer
Funeral Home of Warren.

JONATHAN WYLIE ROWELL (September 5, 1898-May 22, 1979)

Warren – Jonathan Wylie Rowell, 80, of Warren, died Tuesday at Bradley County Memorial Hospital
here. He was a retired welder. He had served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Mabel Elizabeth Campbell Rowell; three daughters, Mrs. Erma Garrison and Ms. Jerrye Sipes
of Crossett and Mrs. Anna Cole of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Claudie Carroll of Bastrop, Louisiana; five
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Westside
Baptist Church here by Reverend Harold Richardson. Burial was to be in Prospect Cemetery near here
by Frazer Funeral Home of Warren.

Jonathan was the son of Felix Samuel ROWELL & Mary Pamelia WAITES. He married Mabel Elizabeth
CAMPBELL on 15 May 1946 in Drew County AR.

Warren – Mrs. Mattie May [Temple] Rowell, 93, of Warren, died Sunday at Bradley County Memorial
Hospital here. She was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include three
sons, Buster Rowell and Walter Rowell of Warren and Lester Rowell of San Dimas, California; three
daughters, Mrs. Ruby Bain Bridge of Houston, Mrs. Carroll Gates of the Jersey community and Mrs. J. L.
Hollingsworth of Hermitage; a brother, Pat Temple of Magnolia; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Tolbert of Taylor,
Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

MRS. S. T. [SAMUEL TOLBERT] [MYRTLE IVY HINES] ROWELL (August 6, 1892-November 13, 1941)

Mrs. S. T. Rowell, 49, of Gravel Ridge died at her home on Thursday, November 13. She was born in
Bradley county on August 6, 1892. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived
by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Marion Kirkley, Mrs. Clarence Gates, and Miss Reba Sue Rowell,
all of Gravel Ridge; one son, Fred Rowell of Warren; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Dailey of Gravel Ridge and
Mrs. Bessie McLeod of Banks, and one brother, Prather Hines of Banks. Funeral services were conducted
Friday aternoon at 2 o'clock at Jersey Church by the Rev. Eb White. Burial was in Jersey cemetery.

S. T. [SAMUEL TOLBERT] ROWELL (January 10, 1883-June 29, 1969)

Warren – S. T. Rowell, 86, of Warren, died Sunday at Bradley County Hospital here. He was a retired
farmer. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church here. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marion
Kirkley of Clarendon, Mrs. Gerald Cook of Hampton and Mrs. Bill Harville of California; a sister, Mrs.
Howard Temple of Warren; two grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at
10 a.m. Wednesday at Frazer Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Samuel was the son of David James ROWELL and Mary Ann KYSER. He married Myrtle Ivy HINES
on 15 Mar 1908 in Bradley County AR.

SHELBY S. [SHERWOOD] ROWELL (November 3, 1877-February 1, 1956)

Headline: Shelby S. Rowell Dies in Warren

Warren (Spl.) - Shelby S. Rowell, 80 [79], died Wednesday at his home here. A native of this county,
he had lived here all his life. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Birdie Easley of Seborn, Mo., Mrs.
T. J. Carroll of Bastrop, La., and Mrs. M. C. West of Pine Bluff, and two brothers, C. T. Rowell of
San Jose, Calif., and Wylie Rowell of Warren. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness sect.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday at Frazer Funeral Home. Burial was in the Prospect
Cemetery with arrangements by Frazer.

TONY BUSTER ROWELL (November 5, 1901-May 4, 1988)

Warren – Tony Buster Rowell, 86, a retired Potlatch Corporation employee, died Wednesday at
Bradley County Memorial Hospital here. Born November 5, 1901, in Bradley County, he was a
son of John Richard and Mattie Temple Rowell. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church
here and Hermitage Masonic Lodge 262. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Creed Rowell; a daughter,
Rosemary Garner of Warren, two brothers, Walter Rowell of Wilmer, Alabama, and Lester Rowell
of Berwin, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Osie Gates and Mistle Hollingsworth, both of Hermitage; and
two grandsons. A son, Doyle Bailey Rowell, preceded him in death. Funeral services are scheduled
for 2 p.m. Friday at Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren, with the Rev. Wayman Mann and the Rev.
Frank Worley officiating. Burial, with Masonic rites, will be in Oakland Cemetery here.
