William Hargis

MONTICELLO -- William
Cleo Hargis, 65, of Monticello, a
retired salesman and mechanic,
died Friday at his home.

Born June 25, 1925, in Bradley
County, he was a son of the late
C. C. and Maude Kitchell Hargis.

He was a member of the Shady
Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jew-
ell Jordan Hargis of Monticello; a
daughter, Pridgett Wynn of Star
City; three stepsons, Gerald
Gladden, Billy Gladden and
Dennis Gladden, all of Monticello;
a stepdaughter, Susan Herring of
Monticello; three brothers, Rev.
Klois Hargis of Hamburg, Carl
Hargis of Johnsville (Bradley
County) and Hurley Hargis of
Hermitage; a half-sister, Ruthie
Mae Jackson of Warren; two
grandchildren; nine step-
grandchildren; and a step-
grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 4:30
p.m. today at Stephenson-
Dearman Funeral Home with the
Revs. R. V. White and Bobby
Grimes officiating. Burial will be
in the Union Ridge Cemetery near
Monticello.
