"Streets were canals of mud in 1924," Warren, Arkansas

"The fact that Warren's streets desperately needed paving in 1924 may be seen from this picture. It was made in front of the present Morgan & Lindsey Store, then occupied by Lambert Ford Company. Note the gas pump on the edge of the sidewalk at right, and the usual throng of Model T Fords. Motorists sometimes got stuck hub-deep on Main Street."
