J. W. Black House, Corning

From the Clay County Courier:

"The J. W. Black family had made their home in a residence on this corner, West Second and Myrtle, shortly after they arrived in Corning in 1895, but by 1911 the old home was not on a par with the newer homes that were being built in Corning, so the old home was moved South stands, and this new home was moved into in 1911.

The leaning light pole reflects the casual way that electricity was purveyed in early Corning."
