First New Home Church at Blue

"Methodist came to the Blue School community following a successful meeting held at W. Blevins in 1930.  The Reverend Blevins, assigned to the Corning Methodist Church, had begun preaching at Blue.  At that time roads were impassible to automobiles in bad weather and the preacher had to walk the railroad tracks to reach his preaching appointment."

New Home Methodist Church, 1960

"The dream of a modern brick church connected to the educational building was realized in 1960 when the New Home congregation moved into this sanctuary, one of the most attractive rural churches in the county.  The oval driveway lined with Mimosa trees provides an attractive entry to the church yard."
