PINEY GROVE CEMETERY (Black)

Transcribed by: Crystal Hampton - November 2003

Names appearing in Red below were submitted by Kacey (Taylor) Mays who received a transcription of this cemetery from the LDS, Salt Lake City, Utah.  The graves in Red differ from that of the walk thru transcription of Crystal Hampton in 2003.  I do not know why there is a difference but it is possible that these graves were marked at one time and no longer are depending on the date of transcription, etc.  The date of the LDS transcription is unknown but the latest burial provided on it is 1996.

HISTORY:  Piney Grove A. M. E. Methodist Church was established approximately 1876 according to the Guide to Vital Statistics Records in Arkansas.  The cemetery is adjoining the church property and was started soon after.

DIRECTIONS:  Hwy. 189S from Kingsland 9.9 miles.  Turn right on to Crain Lake Road.  Go about 0.3 mile, turn left only Tol Rainey Road.  Go 0.2 miles.  Cemetery on left.   Section. 6, Township 11, Range 10.
