Elmyra (Knowles) Weynandt

Elmyra K. Weynandt, age 88 of Kingsland, formerly of Austin, Texas died, Friday, December 30, 2005 at her home. She was born August 31, 1917 in Kingsland, a daughter of the late Bevelly Barnett Knowles and Jessie Clara Franklin Knowles. Mrs. Weynandt graduated from Kingsland High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She married Louis Weynandt on February 24, 1946.

Mrs. Weynandt was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother. She was also a school teacher and a medical technician before her retirement. Mrs. Weynandt was a member of the Extension Homemakers Club and Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church. While in Austin, she and Louis were long time members of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Weynandt was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Anita Knowles; one infant brother. She loved her family and wide circle of friends deeply and will be missed by all.

Mrs. Weynandt is survived by her husband, Louis Weynandt of Kingsland; two sons and daughter-in-law, James K. Weynandt of Dallas, Texas, Jack D. and Cynthia Weynandt of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Joann Hall of New Edinburg, Ercell "Sally" Harris of Pine Bluff, Janie Kuykendall of Ozark, Missouri; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church near New Edinburg with Brother Bobby Parnell and Brother Rick Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Graves Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Donations may be made to the charity of choice. Pallbearers: James K. Weynandt, Jack D. Weynandt, Calton Hall, James Lisemby, Allen Rowland, Ted Langford.
