KINGSLAND Roy Maxwell Mitchell, 77, of Kingsland died Wednesday. Survivors are
wife, Gladys Mitchell; two sons; one daughter; one brother; six sisters; 10 grandchildren
; seven great-grandchildren. Visitation Saturday 6-8 p.m., Benton Funeral Home, Fordyce.
Funeral, 2 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church, Kingsland. Burial, Graves Cemetery.
Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home, Fordyce.

Roy Maxwell Mitchell, age 77, of Kingsland, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in the
Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff.
Born October 3, 1927 at Kingsland, he was a son of the late Wallace Edward and Mary Jewell
Graves Mitchell.
He was a forester for International Paper Company and a member of the First Baptist Church
at Kingsland. He served in the Army during World War II.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold Mitchell; one
sister, Polly Mitchell and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Nowlin Mitchell, of Kingsland; two sons, Roy Edward
Mitchell and Larry Ray Mitchell, both of Kingsland; one daughter, Marsha McKnight of
Medical Lake, WA; one brother, James Mitchell of Sweeney, TX; six sisters, Doris Lisemby
of Arkadelphia, helen Goggans of Kingsland, Kathleen Ferguson of Van Buren, Gwen Douglas
of Thornton, Lavern Rotten of Voyd, TX, and Wanda Newton of Victoria, TX; 10
grandchildren, Brian, Robert and Karen Mitchell, Shannon Humphrey, Amber
McKnight-Faulkner, Donald, Ronald, Braden, Cade and Cody Mitchell; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 3, in the First Baptist Church at
Kingsland with Rev. David Ray officiating. Burial was in Graves Cemetery near Kingland by
Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
