Ashcraft of the State of Arkansas and County of Bradley have this day granted bargained sold and conveyed and as by these presents grant bargain sell and convey to James Harper of the State and County aforesaid the following described tract or parcel of Land To wit ~ North half of the North East quarter of Section twenty eight (28) Township ten (10) South of Range Nine (9) West containing twenty acres for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five [dollars] the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and I for myself my heirs executors and administrators do warrant and defend the title to the above described Land against the claim or claims of all other persons and do by these presents relinquish all my right title and claim in and to the above described lands to James Harper his heirs and assigns forever and I Catherine Ashcraft wife of the aforesaid James L. Marks & Wife Lo Deed State of Arkansas Collumbus Ashcraft County of Lincoln For and in consideration of one hundred and fifty dollars to me paid by Collumbus Ashcraft I Frank M. marks of the above state and county do hereby grant sell and convey to the said Collumbus Ashcraft and to his heirs and assigns the following real estate lying in Lincoln County and state aforesaid to wit: The South East quarter of south East quarter of Sec. thirty three (33) also South West quarter of South West [quarter] (and North West [quarter] of south West [quarter] of Sec thirty Four 34 Township ten 10 South Range nine (9) West) containing one hundred and twenty Acres more or less according to the State Survey with all the rights and priviledges to the same belong. AR To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come - Greeting, Whereas under the provisions of an Act entitled “An Act to give the Commissioner of State Lands control of the School Lands of this State” approved March 3, 1875, and the Act of the General Assembly approved the 13th day of December, 1875, entitled “An Act to authorize the Commissioner of State Lands to make deeds in certain cases, And Whereas Charles Rodgers did on the 13th day of June, 1871, purchase from the Collector of Lincoln, County as shown by evidence this day filed in this Office together with the proof of full payment in compliance with the terms, of the sale as required by existing laws, for the following described land to wit: - The southwest Quarter of the South West Quarter of Section Sixteen, (16) in Township, Ten (10) south of the base line in Range Nine (9) West, of the fifth Principal Meridian, containing Forty (40) and 10/100 acres, and it appearing from the evidence filed that Charles Rodgers is now deceased and Sarah Ashcraft is the only surviving heir of the said Charles Rodgers, Deceased and Sarah Ashcraft is the only surviving heir of the said Charles Rodgers, Deceased and the legal owner of the above described land. Now Therefore I, D. W. Lear, Commissioner of State Lands for the State of Arkansas in consideration of the premises aforesaid and in conformity with the said Act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas in such cases made and provided, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Sarah Ashcraft, the above described land To Have And To Hold the same together with all the rights, privileges, immunities and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to the said Sarah Ashcraft, and to her heirs and assigns forever.
