Bailey, Boyce T - Pfc. Boyce T. Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bailely, was inducted into the Army on December 1, 1942 and received his basic training at Camp McCoy,Wis. He saw foreign service in Ireland, England, and France and was wounded on June 16, 1944 at St. Lo, France. Pfc. Bailey wears the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, Infantryman's Badge, Good Conduct Medal and two Battle Stars.
Bailey, George D - A.O.M. 1-c George D. Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Bailey, Magnolia, graduated from McNeil High School and Chillicothe Bussiness College, Chillicothe, Mo., entered the Navy in July 1942 and trained at San Diego, California and Seattle, Washington. He served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Core for two years and is now on duty at Naval base at Columbus, Ohio.
Bailey, Thorson W - Cpl. Thorson W. Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Bailey, Magnolia, entered the Air Corps in February 1943 after graduating from McNeil High School. He trained at Keesler Field, Miss., and was also stationed at New Orleans, La., Niagra Falls and Chico, California before receiving his present assignment at Maxwell Field, Alabama.
Baker, Aubrey Slay - Pfc. Aubrey Slay Baker was inducted into the Army in August of 1942 and served with the Army Military Police in Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas and Fort Dupont, Delaware, Indiana. He is now on duty at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. Attended Harvey C. Couch School and Magnolia A & M. His mother is Mrs. James Franklin Baker
Baker, Ervin G - Cpl. Ervin G. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Baker attended Calhoun High before entering the Army Ari Corps in October 1942. His training was received at Keelser Field, Miss., and Kearns, Utah. He went overseas in February 1943 and was an Airplaine Supply man in Africa, Arabia and Palestine.
Baker, Herschel B - Pfc. Herschel B. Baker, entered the Army in June, 1941. He took his training at Camp Roberts, California; Camp Cosbmk, California; Camp Robinson, Ark; Ft. Sam Houston, Texas; Camp Poe, La, and Indiantown Gap, Pa. While overseas he served in England, and France and was wounded in action in Metz, France, Novermber 1944. Pfc. Baker is now on duty at Ft. Sam Houston and is wearing the A. P., Good Conduct Medal; E.T.O. and two Battle Stars.
Baker, James F - Cpl. James F. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baker of Emerson, was inducted into the Army in January 1943. After training at Camp Haan, California, he served in New Guinea, Netherland East Indies and the Philippines. He is now on duty on Luzon and wears the S.P.C. with battle stars and Good Conduct Ribbon.
Baker, Johnson J. Jr - T -4 Johnson J. Baker Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Baker, graduated from Magnolia High School and A & M college before entering the Army in 1944. He received his training in Little Rock, Ark, and Fort Ord, California previous to his foreign service in the Philippines and Japan. He is now serving in Japan and wearing ribbons for the Asiatic Pacific Campaign, Philippine Liberation and a Presidential Citation.
Baker, Kermit N - Cpl. Kermit N. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. s. N. Baker, entered the service as an Army Engineer in November 1941. He received his training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., before serving in England and France. Awarded the Good Conduct Medal and E.T.O.
Baker, Leonard J - Sgt. Leonard J. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baker, attended Walkerville High School before his induction in the Army, November 1943. He received Infantry training at Fort Sill, Okla., El Reno, Okla., and Camp Maxey, Texas. His present assignment is at Camp Maxey, Texas where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Mrs. Baker is the former Hellen Girard.
Baker, Newell B - S-Sgt. Newell B. Baker attended Calhoun School before he entered the Army on May 6, 1942. Trained at Camp Crowder, Mo., and San Francisco, California before seeing foreign service in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He is top mess Sgt. and baker, now on duty at the Philippine Islands. Wears the S. P. C. and Battle Stars.
Baker, Rodney L - A -c Rodney L. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Baker, Magnolia, graduated from Magnolia Hight, and entered the Army Air Corps on May 29, 1943. He entered Cadet training October 4, 1944 and served as Army Flight Instructor at Camden, Arkansas and Stamford, Texas, and is now on duty at Brooks Field, Texas
Baker, Roy L - Cpl. Roy L. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Baker, attended Calhoun School before entering the Army in December 1942. Since his induction, Cpl. Baker has been stationed at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas.
Baker, Tilman - Cpl. Tilman Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Baker of Emerson, attended Calhoun School previous to his induction in the Army in October 1942. He received his training at Camp Perry, Ohio and Camp Shelby, Miss., and later served in England, France, Germany and Belgium. Now on duty at Belgium and has been presented the Good Conduct Medal and the E.T.O. Ribbbons.
Ballard, Clifton C - Sgt. Clifton C. Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Ballard, Magnolia, attended school at Village, Ark, before his induction into the Army in June 1941. Before going oversear he received training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and San Luis Obispo, California. While on foreign service in Hawaii, New Guinea and Luzon he was presented ribbons for the A. P. with two Battle Stars and for the Philippine Liberation.
Ballard, Herman - Sgt. Herman Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Ballard, Magnolia, attendede school at Village, before entering the Army Air Corps in November 1942. Previous to his foreign service, Sgt. Ballard trained at Keesler Field, Miss.; Westover, Mass., and Harvard, Nebraska. After V-E Day he was in Africa with the A.T.C. but before then saw action in Italy. Was awarded the M.T.O. with seven Battle Stars and two Presidential Citations.
Ballard, James P - Lt. James P. Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Ballard, Magnolia, served with the Marines in Hawaii, Philippines, and other Pacific Islands. He took his training as pilot of a B-25 at Athens, Georgia; Norman, Oklahoma and Cherry Point, N. C., before going overseas. He wears the S.W.PC. Ribbon.
Barge, Carroll A - F-O Carroll A Barge, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Barge, Magnolia, entered the Army October 1942 and received his training at air bases in Oklahoma and Texas. He went overseas May 4, 1945, as a B-29 pilot, and completed 22 missions. Was awarded the Air Medal, Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star, and Distinguished Flying Cross.
Barker, Ava Lavelle - Pfc. Ava Lavelle Barker, son of Mrs. Evie Barker, entered the service in February 1943 and received his training at Camp McCain, Miss.; Nashville, Tenn., and Fort Jackson, S. C. He served with a medical battalion in England, France, Belguim, Holland, Czechoslovakia, and Germany. Pfc. Baker wears the Ribbon for the European Theater of War with four Battle stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon, Unit Citation and the Combat Medical Badge.
Barker, Ernest E - Ernest E. Barker, son of Mrs. A. S. Barker, McKamie, joined the Merchant Marines, November 1944, and received his training at St. Petersburg, Florida and New Orleans, La., before going into the Pacific Theater.
Barker, Sidney L - O.C. Sidney L. Barker, son of Mrs. A. S. Barker McKamie, entered the service May 11, 1943; received his training in Field Artillery at Camp Robinson, Ark., Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Columbia University, Mo., Camp Bowie, Texas. In November 1944, he was sent to Hawaii and came back to the states to attend O.C. S. at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in June 1945.
Barlow, James P - 1st Lt. James P. Barlow received his pilot's training in the Army Air Force at Parks Air College, East St. Louis, Strother Field, Kansas and Pampa Field, Texas. He served with the A.T.C. and 312th Ferrying Squadron in England, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and North Africa. He was awarded the E.T.O. with three Battle Stars.
Barron, David L - T-4 David L. Barron, son of the late Oscar S. Barron and Josephine Barron, Magnolia, attended Magnolia High School before entering the Army in 1936. He received his training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma before going overseas in June of 1945. While on foreign service he was stationed in the Hawaiian Islands at Oahu where he is still on duty. T-4 Barron was awarded the C.P.C. and Good Conduct Medal.
Barron, Errol - Ensign Errol Barron, son of the late Oscar S. and Josephine Barron, Magnolia, attended Magnolia High School, A & M College, University of Arkansas, Ouachita College and George Washington University at Washington, D. C. where he majored in music and was a talented musician. As a Marine Ensign Barron trained at St. Petersburg, Florida and New Orleans, La. and later served in the Pacific and in Europe. He wears the American Defense, C.A.C. and E.T.O. Ribbons.
Barton, J. W - S-Sgt. J. W. Barton, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Barton, Magnolia, graduated from Smackover High and Tyler Business College before he entered the service on November 11, 1942. While in the Army, Sgt. Barton has been assigned to the Finance Department and has trained at Dalhart, Texas
Barton, Romie A - Pfc. Romie A. Barton, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Barton, attended Lone Beech School before he entered the Army in June 1941; trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and served in Hawaii, New Guinea and the Philippines. He is now on duty at Luzon and wears the A.P.C. with three Battle Stars, Philippine Liberation, American Defense and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
Bass, Douglas E - F 1-c Douglas E. Bass, son of Mrs. S. J. Bass, Magnolia, graduated from Quinn High School, El Dorado, and entered the Navy in May 1944. He received training at Farragut, Idaho and later served in France, Africa, Italy and Arabia. Wears the M.T.O. and A.P. Ribbons.
Bass, Harvey T - Gunner's Mate 1-c Harvey T. Bass, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Bass, entered the Navy in 1942, and trained at San Diego, California as instructor in anti-aircraft. He is now in the Philippines and wears the A. P. Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal.
Baucum, Dan Jr - Cpl. Dan Baucum, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. an Baucum, Magnolia, was an Army Engineer and trained at Camp Robinson, Arkansas and Camp Reynolds, Pa., before going overseas in April 1944. He was stationed in New Caledonia, Guadacanal and Luzon, where he was presented the A.P. Ribbon and one Battle Star.
Beard, Carl E - Cpl. Carl E. Beard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beard, Magnolia, entered the Army Air Corps on May 11, 1943. Received basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas and radio training at Truax Field, Madison, Wis., before going overseas. He served in England, Scotland, France and Germany and was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, E.T.O., with six Battle Stars.
Beard, Norris W - Sgt. Norris W. Beard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beard, Magnolia, graduate of Gladewater, Texas High School and Louisiana Tech, entered the Army Air Corps in June 1942. Trained at Sheppard Field, Texas, Burbank, Calif., Salt Lake City and Pueblo, Colo., and served 25 months in England with the 8th Air Force. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, E.T.O. Ribbon with six Battle Stars ane the Presidental Citation.
Bearden, Clinton H - 1st Sgt. Clinton H. Bearden, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bearden, entered the Army in April 1942 and trained at Camp Robinson and Camp Fannin, Texas. Served overseas in Italy, France and Germany and was a prisoner of war from December 14, 1944 to April 16, 1945. Was awarded the Pre-Peral Harbor, Good Conduct, E.T.O. Ribbon with four Battle Stars, Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart.
Beasley, Fred - Pfc. Fred Beasley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Beasley, entered the Army on April 21, 1944. Trained at Camp Wolters, Texas before seeing foreign service in France, Belgium, Germany and Austria. He is now stationed at Linz, Austria and wearing the Good Conduct Medal, E.T.O., and one Battle Star.
Beasley, James G - S 2-c James G. Beasley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Beasley, Magnolia, graduated from Magnolia High School, and enlisted in the Navy January 25, 1945. Received his basic training at San Diego, California and later attended Radar School in San Diego, California.
Beasley, Warren J - Sgt. Warren J. Beasley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Smead Beasley, Magnolia, graduate of Magnolia High, entered Army Medical Corps, April 5, 1942. He trained at Camp Robinson and Fort Riley, Kansas before going to South America and Europe.
Beene, Doris L - Cpl. Doris L. Beene, son of Mrs. Dessie Mae Beene, Village, trained at Ft. Knox, Ky., and Camp Campbell, Ky., before going overseas with the 14th Armored Division. Cpl. Beene saw action in Africa, Sicily and Italy and was wounded on February 11, 1944. On September 23, 1944, he was killed in action. Was awarded the M.C. Medal and 5 Battle Stars, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star.
Beene, Edwin H - Cpl. Edwin H. Beene, son of Mrs. Dawsie Talton, graduate of Byrd High School and Centenary College, Shreveport, entered the service January 1943. He received his training with the Q. M. C. at Camp Roberts, California and Casper, Wis.
Beene, Horace N - Capt. Horace N. Beene, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Beene, Magnolia, and husband of the former Hazel S. Snider, entered the Army Air Corps November 1, 1941. Trained in Texas, Colorado, California, Louisana, and Mississippi before serving in Australia and the Philippines. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal and is now stationed on Shima Island.
Beene, Otha G - Sgt. Otha G. Beene, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Beene, entered the Army Air Corps on September 15, 1942. He trained at Lowry Field, Colo., Tyndal Field, Florida; Geiger Field, Washington and Walla Walla Air Base, Washington.While oversears he was stationed in Africa, Italy,Germany, France and England. Awarded the Air Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Beene, Wade - 1st Lt. Wade Beend son of Mrs. Dawsie Talton, Magnolia, entered the Army Air Service Command. Previously with the National Guard, he trained at Ft. Lewis, Wash.; Camp Lee, Va.; Will Rogers Field, Okla.; and Daniel Field, Ga. Lt. Beene went overseas in January 1944 and is now on duty at Naples, Italy. Awarded the Mediterranean T. O. Ribbon.
Beeson, Clifton O - A-S Clifton O. Beeson, son of Mrs. Minnie Beeson of Magnolia, attended Village High School. He entered the Navy on August 7, 1945 and trained at San Diego, California. A-S Beeson received a medical discharge September 16, 1945.
Beeson, Hershel D - Sgt.Hershel D. Beeson, son of Mrs. Minnie Beeson, attended Village School before entering the Army in March 1940. Received Infantry training at Ft. Bliss, Texas and Ft. Smith, Ark., before going overseas in August 1941. He served 31 months in Alaska. Now on duty at Baltimore, Md., and wearing the A.P. Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, Infantry Badge, Expert Rifleman and Expert Machine Gun Badges.
Beeson, Lawless M - Pfc. Lawless M. Beeson, son of Mrs. Minnie Beeson, Magnolia, attended Village High School and entered the Army in February 1942. He received training in the Medical Corps at Camp Robinson, Ark., and Camp Polk, La., before serving in England, France, Germany, and Belgium. Awarded the E.T.O. and one Battle Star.
Beeson, Quay H - Pfc. Quay H. Beeson, son of Mrs. Minnie Beeson, Magnolia, attended Village High School before entering the service in 1943. He trained at Ft. Sill, Okla., and Camp Breckenridge, Ky., later serving in England, France and Germany. Awarded the E.T.O. and three Battle Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, and Presidential Citation.
Beeson, William C - S-Sgt. William C. Beeson, son of Mrs. Minnie Beeson, Magnolia, attended school in Village and later entered the Infantry and trained at Camp Wolters, Texas, and Shenago, Pa. He saw action in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Belgium and was wounded three times. Was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, E.M.E. and 5 Battle Stars, Presidental Citation, Purple Heart with two Oak Leaf Clusters, E.T.O., and three Battle Stars. Was honorably discharged September 4, 1945.
Benefield, Hampton R - S-Sgt. Hampton R. Benefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Benefield, Emerson, entered the Army on January 21, 1942. Trained at Camp San Luis Obispo, California, Camp Rucker, Alabama, and Camp Butner, N. C., before serving with the 35th Division in England, France, and Germany. He was wounded in France on November 8th, 1944 while serving with General Patton's army and was presented three Battle Stars, Expert Infantry Medal, Good Conduct, Marksmanship Medal and the Purple Heart.
Benefield, Hollis - Sgt. Hollis Benefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Benefield, attended Emerson High School and entered the Army in September 1942. He had Anti-Aircraft training at Camp Hulen, Tesxs and Camp Cooke, California before he served in New Guinea and the Philippines. Awarded the A.P., Philippine Liberation and two Battle Stars.  **NOTE** When the book was put together; some of the photos had one side cut off.
Bennett, Billy D - Lt. Billy D. Bennett, son of T. L. Bennett, Magnolia, entered the Army in 1941. He received his training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; Camp Barkley, Texas and Ft. Devens, Mass., before going overseas. While serving in Africa, Sicily and Italy, he was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Lt. Bennett was killed in action at Anzio, Italy, on May 23, 1944.
Bennett, Jeff D - S-Sgt. Jeff D. Bennett, son of Mr.a and Mrs. G. H. Bennett, Magnolia, graduate of Magnolia High School, entered the service in June 1943. He received his Army training at Camp Wolters, Texas before going overseas in May 1944. S-Sgt. Bennett served in New Guinea, New Caledonia, East Indies, and the Philippines. Wears the Presidential Citation and Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Bennett, Johnnie W - Pvt. Johnnie W. Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bennett, Magnolia, entered the service in February 1945. He received his Infantry training at Camp Wollters, Texas and Ft. Ord, California. Now at Manila.
Bennett, Robert G. Jr - S-Sgt. Robert G. Bennett, Jr., son of Mr.and Mrs. Bob Bennett, Magnolia, graduate of Magnolia High School, was mobilized with College National Guard in December 1940. He received infantry training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas and Tacoma, Washington before going to Alaska for 32 months. He returned to the states , but was later sent to France, Belgium, Holland and Germany where he was awarded the A. P. Pre-Pearl Harbor, E.T.O. and there Battle Stars. Honorably discharged in September 1945.
Bennett, Samuel L - S-1c Samuel L. Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bennett, Magnolia, attended Magnolia High School before entering the Navy in March 1942.. Trained at San Diego and went overseas in July 1942. He has served in Saipan, Leyte, Guam and Okinawa and now is on duty in China. Was awarded the SW.P.C. and eight Battle Stars.
Bennett, William R - Cpl. William R. Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bennett, Magnolia, attended Magnolia High School before entering the Army in 1944. His training was received at Camp Gordon Johnston, Florida and in February 1943, he sailed for overseas duty where he was stationed in the Philippines as an amphibious engineer.
Berk, Ellsworth E - Sgt. Ellsworth E. Berk, son of J. A. Berk, attended Magnolia A & M College and Chicago School of Chiropathy before entering the Army in April 1944. He trained at Camp Barkley, Abilene, Texas and later served in England, France and Germany.
Bigelow, Jhue W - T-Sgt. Jhue W. Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Bigelow, Magnolia, entered the Army Air Corps in February 1943 and received his basic training at St. Petersburg, Florida. Further training at Keesler Field, Miss.; Harlingen, Texas; Peterson Field, Colorado and Chanute Field, Ill., before going overseas in April 1944.
Bigelow, Lawrence H - SSMB 2-c Lawrence H. Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Bigelow, Magnolia, attended A.& M. College before his induction into the Navy in March 1944. He received his boot training at Farragut, Idaho and remained there after getting his discharge.
Bird, Carl W - Cpl. Carl W. Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bird, was inducted into the Army in 1943 and received his training at Camp Hood, Texas and Ft. Lewis, Washington. Since that time he has served in England, France, Germany, and Luxemburg. Awarded four Battle Stars, one Bronze Star, and the Medal of Honor.
Bird, Guyte W - S-Sgt. Guyte W. Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bird, Jr., Magnolia, attended Magnolia High School before his induction into the Army Air Corps in 1942. Trained at Lincoln, Nebraska and Seattle, Washington and later served 20 months in England with the 8th Air Force. Awarded the Expert Rifle Medal, Good Conduct, Presidential Citation, E.T.O., and six Battle Stars.
Bird, Roy M - Capt. Roy M. Bird, son of Mrs. and Mrs. J. M. Bird, attended Magnolia High School, Magnolia A. & M. and Baylor Dental College, Dallas, Texas before entering the Army in 1942. He was trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and later served in the Dental Corps in Pearl Harbor.
Birdwell, James C - Pfc. James C. Birdwell, son of J. E. Birdwell, husband of the former Verna Jones, Emerson, attended Walkerville High School before his induction into the Army in April 1944. Trained at Camp Wolters, Texas, and served overseas in Italy. Now on duty at Camp Claiborne, La., and eligible to wear the M.T.O. and two Battle Stars.
Black, Basil C - Sgt. Basil C. Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Black, McNeil, attended McNeil High School and entered the Army Coast Artillery, in 1942. He spent 14 months training with heavy mortar at Camp Wolters and Camp Hood, Texas, before going overseas. While in N. Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and Hungary, he was presentd the M.T.O. and four Battle Stars, E.T.O. and three Battle Stars.
Black, Billy - Pvt. Billy black, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Black, McNeil, attended McNeil High School before his induction into the Army in February 1943. Trained at Camp Robinson, Ark., Ft. Ord, California and Adair, Oregon, and went overseas in September 1945. Now on duty at Leyte.
Black, Chester L - T-5 Chester L. Black son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Black, NcNeil, entered the Army in August 1941 and trained at Camp Wolters, Texas; Ft. Knox, Ky., and Camp Cook, California. In February 1944 he was sent overseas and served in England, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands and Germany. Awarded the E.T.O. with five Battle Stars and the Bronze Star.
Black, Denman W - Pfc. Denman W. Black son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black, McNeil, attended McNeil High School before his induction into the Army in September 1944. He received his infantry training at Camp Flanning, Florida and Fort Ord, California and later served overseas in Luzon, Manila, Saipan and Leyte. He was presented the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and one Battle Star.
Black, Heston - Pvt. Heston Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black, attended Willisville and McNeil High Schools before his induction into the Army Medical Corps, in August 1941. He trained at Ft. Monmouth, N. J., and Death Valley Desert, California.
Black, Overton W - Pvt. Overton W. Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black, McNeil, attended McNeil High School and entered the service in 1942. Trained at Fort Sill, Okla.; Camp Crowder, Mo.; Ft. Dix, New Jersey and later served in England and France with the 3rd Army. He was wounded in action on June 12, 1944 in France and was presented the Purple Heart, E.T.O. and two Battle Stars.

College previous to his induction into the Army Air Corps in October 1942. He reeceived training at Keesler Field, Miss.; Harlingen Gunnery School, Texas, and Ft. Myers Instructor's School, Florida and later served on the Ascension Island.
Blackwell, Marion D - S-Sgt. Marion D. Blackwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Blackwell, was inducted into the Army on December 23, 1940, and received traning at Camp Robinson, and also at Fort Benning, Ga. Sgt. Blackwell served in aAaska, England and France during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct, E.T.O. and A. P . Ribbons. He was wounded at St. Lo, France in July 1944.

He received infantry training at Camp Barkley, Texas; maneuvered in Louisana and California and left the U. S. in March 1944. He served in England, France, and Belgium and was wounded at St. Lo, France on July 4, 1944, and was awarded the Purple Heart and two Battle Stars.

He entered the Army in December 1940 and received his Infantry training at Fort Benning, Ga. While serving in France, Capt. Booth was wounded twice. Also served in Alaska, England, and Germany. Now on duty at Marseilles, France, wearing the A. P. Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, E.T.O. and four Battle Stars, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star.

He was awarded the Presidential Citation and Purple heart before he was killed in action June 6, 1944, in the Normandy invasion.

Pfc.Burton is now on duty at Camp Chaffee and is eligible to wear the Good Conduct Ribbon, a citation for serving continuoulsy with the 9th Infantry Division from June 6, 1944 to July 18, 1944 and the E.T.O. and five Battle Stars.
Burton, Paul T - Lt.Col. Paul T. Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Burton, Magnolia, graduated from Magnolia High School and New York University before he entered the service in Sept. 1940. Received Army Air Corps trainng at Seabring, Fla., El Paso, Texas and Denver, Colo., before going overseas and serving Palestine, England, North Africa, Germany, Belgium and Canada. Was awarded the D.F.C., with an Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with four clusters, Purple Heart, Allied Victory Medal, Canadian Service, E.T.O., and three Battle Stars, Unit Citation, Escaped Prisoner of War Medal, Silver Star, and Bronze Star.
Burton, Weldon K - Major Weldon K. Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Burton, Magnolia, graduate of Magnolia High School and Columbia University, entered the service in March 1941. He received his training in the Army Air Corps at Seabring, Florida; Boise, Idaho; Jarvis, Ontario, Canada. Served overseas in Brazil, North Africa, Italy, Dutch Guinea and Isle of Capri. Was presented the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, E.T.O. with three Battle Stars. Major Burton was reported missing in action over the Adriatic Sea on October 27, 1944.
Bussey, Harry E - Pfc. Harry E. Bussey, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Bussey, attended Magnolia A. & M. before he entered the Army in April, 1942. After training at Fort Knox, Ky., and Pine Camp, N. Y., he served overseas in England. Discharged October 3, 1944. Awarded the European, African, and Good Conduct Ribbons.
Butler, Charles L - Pfc. Charles L. Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Butler, and husband of the former Katie N. Hood, attended Texas Military School and graduated from Magnolia High School before his induction into the Army in January 1943. He trained at Camp Robinson, Arkansas and Frot Meade, Md., before going overseas.
Butler, W. G - CM 2-c W. G. Butler, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Butler, graduated at Emerson Hgh School before his induction into the Navy Seabees in April, 1943. He trained at Camp Peary, Va.; Gulfport, Miss., and Dorisville, R. I. before serving in Puerto Rico; Hawaii; Philippines; Guam, and Samar Islands. Awarded the A.P.C., and S.P.C. Campaign Ribbons.
