Obit. of Martha Atkinson Strange Submitted by Pat Godwin Born June 12, 1846, Died July 2, 1925 Wife of Francis Marion Strange The Magnolia News, Magnolia Arkansas, Thursday, July 15, 1925 MRS. MARTHA STRANGE Mrs. Martha Strange, age 79, for many years a resident of Columbia and Ouachita counties, died Thurdsay, July 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Guttry of Stephens. Burial was conducted July 4th at Buckner. Rev. Dr. E.D. Brown officiating and assisted by Judge W.E. Atkinson of Clarkesville, who offered a prayer as the body was lowered into the grave. Many relatives and friends were present from Buckner, Stamps, McNeil, Stephens and the surrounding country. Among the near relatives who survive and nearly all of whom attended the funeral were her brothers, John R. Atkinson of Hope, and W.E. Atkinson of Clarksville, her sister, Mrs. Mary Pelt of Falcon, her sons, Jim of Texarkana, Newt of Stamps, Luther of Stephens, her uncle, Emmett Atkinson of McNeil and her Aunt, Miss Eva Atkinson of McNeil. There also are 17 grandchildren. Also present at the funeral were those already named and Mrs. W.E. Atkinson, Clarksville, Mrs. John R. Atkinson. Hope, Luther Atkinson, Foreman, Louie Pelt and family of Falcon, Miss. Blanche Atkinson, Hope, Mrs Clara Bowden and daughter, Mary of Little Rock, all of her children, except Charlie of Detroit, and all of her grandchildren except three.
