MENDENHALL/LOE/WHITTEN/SHULTZ
I'm interested in corresponding with anyone researching the MENDENHALL, LOE, WHITTEN, surnames in Nevada County. My Thomas MENDENHALL, born 1792, owned a lot of property just across the Nevada County line, coming from Camden. This property is where the White Church Cemetery is locatedand where most of the family was buried, including Thomas and his wife, Mary. Some of the tombstones were broken and could not be read, but I copied every one that was legible. My line from Thomas was his son, Andrew Jackson Mendenhall who married Elvira Ledora SHULTZ. Her motherdied and her father left her shortly before she married Andrew. Their son was Harrison Orlanda Mendenhall, my grandfather, who married Lettie Irene LOE. My father, Homer Orlando MENDENHALL, was born in Prescott in 1914. I have been unable to locate his family in the 1920 census. Lettie Loe's father was Rufus Lee LOE, son of Benjamin Lee LOE and Virginia WHITTEN. The Whittens originally moved from Newton Co, GA to Columbia Co, AR and then on to Nevada County. Any help, generalcomments, anything would be appreciated.
