Looking for any information relating to FITZ. A Charles FITZ is listed as having purchased property in Columbia County, AR in 1855. I have been asked by a woman in Germany to help her find information on her gg-grandmother FITZ who died in Gillett, AR sometime in the 1940's or 1950's; she was about 93 years of age at the time of her death. The gg-grandmother FITZ had a daughter named Emilie FITZ REISER who was born 12 AUG 1863 in Germany. I know this is a real long-shot! Any information would be welcomed! Thanks!

He married Sarah Speed. He fought in the American Revolution under Lt. Col. Frances Marion. I would like any information about John Granger Nix. I would like to know who his parents were and so on.

In 1860 they were in Columbia County, Arkansas. They had 10 children: Sarah Ann b. 1837 married John Moore (believed to have stayed in Ala.) Martha J. b. 1840 married (5/28/1861)David Conner in Magnolia, Mary C. b 1840 married (9/22/1859)Malvin Warren in Magnolia, John A.b 3/3/1843 married (5/3/1868) Sarah Greenlee b 2/17/1850 in Natchitoches Parish La. These are my gggrandparents. William C. b 1845, Rebecca F. b 1847 married (11/9/1865) Watson M. Reed b 1842, Mary b 1849, Wesley C. b 1851 , James b 1858, Amanda Ellen b 12/18/1861. Weslwy and Amanda came to Louisiana with my grandparents and their parents. If anyone has any information on the other children I would appreciate it. I would love to share my finding with anyone. I noticed in your land records that you do not list land ownership for Samuel Edward Davies (Davis). When I was recently at the county courthouse I did find where he boughtt and sold land as early as 1857, May I think. I am trying to find out more about him--my gggrandfather. Most is the records say DAVIS which is incorrect. He was the third mayor of Magnolia and a son was later mayor A Davies. Are these records not available yet? I would appreciate any infor on SE Davies (Davis).

I just looked at your list of churches and found 4 Macedonia Churches. My GGgrandfather and GGgrandmother John W. Merritt and Sophronia Crain were members of Macedonia Baptist Church. After looking at your list I am confused as to which church. We had always thought the one at Macedonia, AR but perhaps that was the wrong assumption. Can you help clear up. It was a Baptist church but we do not know if convention baptist or hard- shell baptist.

Can I possibly get you to correct a name on the MAYORS of MAGNOLIA. It is listed as Samuel Edward Davis and it is Samuel Edward Davies, served two terms. His son or grandson was A. W. Davies. Samuel Edward Davies is buried in Magnolia Cemetary, died 1880, born in Liverpool England came to Magnolia 1857. The book that this information is listed in was incorrect. I was at the Magnolia Library two weeks ago and have seen the one and only book with Columbia county info and it was incorrect. Family knows that it is incorrect but lady did book with no help so many errors.
