My Father, Lewis Sutton was born april 18 1869 in Madison
co mo.
i know he had 1 brother named Jim.
their Father died when his mother was expecting him. she Remarried
to a McFadden and had 3 boys, Finis, Henry and Charley.
Pa's mother died when he was 13 and shortly afterwards he saw
his stepfather murdered.
There was no one to raise Pa so he took work anywhere he could
find it and raised himself.
My Mama, Anetta Carr was born April 4 1874 in McKinney
Texas. Her Parents were Joshua and Lou Genny Henson Carr.
Joshua was a widow with 8 kids , 5 boys and 3 girls when they
married.
then he an Lou Genny had 9 more children. 3 boys and 6 girls.
Pa And Ma married aug 25 1891 in Uniontown, Ark.
I was born in Indain Terr. just west of Uniontown, may 22 1892
We moved to Ark. just east of Uniontown this is where my sister,
Johnnie Lou Genny was born jan 27 1894.
In 1895 we moved back to Indain Terr. settling near Remy, between
Liberty and Roland
My brother,George Lewis was born there mar 22 1896.
followed by 2 sisters, Mary Lee Francis born Set 9 1898 and Effie
born jan 3 1901.
in 1902 we moved to Marshall mountain where my brother Edgar
Grant was born mar 8 1903.
the next move was to Booger Holler where my 3rd brother Earnest
William was born mar 19 1905.
next move was to Henson Mountain near Liberty.
4 more sisters were born there.
Mildred Ada born sept 5 1904
Bessie Pearl born Aug 18 1909
Cora Bell born feb 10 1912
Velma Alley born jan 20 1914
in 1916 we moved near Akins and the last child was born there
Mable ann born nov 27 1917. farm and lived out the rest of their
lives
Pa died april 17 1949 and Ma died feb 24 1961. they are buried
in the Camp Creek cem.
Pa was a skilled carpenter and also supplemented his farming
income by witching wells and building chimneys.
some of the wells he witched are still being used here. he was
often called on to buitd caskets for friedns and neighbors.
the old home place still standins has a chimney he build.
