Harmony Baptist Church

The Harmony Baptist Church is an African-American Church. It was organized 29 November 1868, with the help of the members of New Hope Baptist Church, a nearby white church, when the community saw a need for an new church for the Black Community.

Harmony Baptist Church is located three miles from Sparkman, in the Pine Grove Community. The first pastor was Reverend A. Yates, a white man, who served until 1874, when the congregation called for a Black Pastor. The first deacons, William Daniel and D. C. Hall, who were also white.
