Lena Smith

Lena Mae Copeland Pearson Smith, 89, of Dalark (Dallas County), died July 29, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center at Arkadelphia.

She was born August 11, 1910, at Dalark, a daughter of the late Martin and Lula Jacob's Copeland.

She was a member of Dalark Methodist Church.

She was owner and operator of Family Grocery and Service Station at Dalark. In later years she worked at an animal hospital.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Horace Pearson and Claude Smith; and a son, Charles Wayne Pearson.

Survivors include one daughter, Roxye Daniel of Dalark; a son, Waymon Pearson of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Bess Evans of North Little Rock and Clara Green of Dalark; a brother, Claude Copeland of Sparkman (Dallas County); three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dalark Methodist Church with the Revs. Robert Langley, Billy Thomasson and Harry Cross officiating. Burial will be in Delamar Cemetery by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia

Family hour will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
