Cremonia J. Hawkins Wright
Memorial services for Cremonia J. Hawkins Wright, age 69,
of Hot Springs, Ark., who died Saturday, April 15, 2006, in
St. Joseph Hospital and was cremated, will be held Thursday,
April 20, 2006, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Brandon's Mortuary,
Malvern, Ark. with Rev. Clarence Guy pastor of Visitors Chapel
A.M.E. Church speaker.
Cremonia was born in Tulip, Ark., to the parentage of the
late Eddie and Beatrice Smith Hawkins on Aug. 30, 1936.
Cremonia moved from California a few years ago to Hot Springs,
Ark. She united with Visitors Chapel A.M.E. Church and was
active in various organizations such as The National Council
of Negro Women, Toastmasters International and she received
a number of awards. She was a real estate agent in California
and was an excellent seamstress and loved to model what she
made.
Cremonia was predeceased by her parents and two brothers,
Edward Alexander Hawkins and Jesse Dean Hawkins.
Survivors are four sons, Edwin D. Griffin (Barbara Johnson
Griffin) of El Sobrante, Calif., Joseph L. Wright (Sherry)
of Hayward, Calif., Michi A. Wright of Oakland, Calif. and
Maury T. Wright of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Venus LaJuana
Wright of San Leando, Calif.; six sisters, Victoria Adams of
Little Rock, Ark., Ollie Mae Weaver of Malvern, Ark., Doretha
Love of Florida, Ernestine Wilson of Little Rock, Ark., Lois
Williams of Oakland, Calif. and Marjorie McWilliam of Detroit,
Mich.; one brother, Ellis Hawkins of Detroit, Mich.; eight
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
