Lillie Mae White

Lillie Mae White, 74, of Little Rock died Saturday, April 1, 2006. She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Fordyce to Uel and Viola Mae Green.

Mrs. White worked for the Arkansas Democrat newspaper for 20 years and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Francis Ann “Judy” Koone; and one sister, Florence Sanders.

Survivors include her son, Leslie Clifford Lephiew of Little Rock; three daughters, Wanda Lee Bartlett of Benton, Lily Maxine Whitten of Haughton, La., and Phyllis Jean Dodson of Little Rock; one sister, Martha Del Gardner of Sikeston, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Basford will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
