Weldon S. Caddy
MALVERN - Weldon Sims "Bill" Caddy, 86, of Malvern
died June 24, 2006, at Malvern Nursing Home. He was born March
21, 1920, in Dallas County to the late William Sims and Irene
Delaney Caddy. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and
served in the South Pacific. He was retired from grocery sales.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Rhea Myers; three
sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include: Two daughters, Linda Byrd of Poyen and
Welda Sherman of Hot Springs; a sister, Dean Atchley of Bismarck;
and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Atkinson Funeral Home
Chapel in Malvern with Rev. Edgar Simmons officiating. Burial
will be in Tulip Cemetery in Dallas County.
He will lie in state from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today at the funeral
home.

Weldon Sims Caddy
Weldon Sims “Bill” Caddy, 86, of Malvern passed
away Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Malvern Nursing Home. He was
born March 21, 1920, in Dallas County to William Sims and Irene
Delaney Caddy. He was a veteran of the United Sates Army and
served his country in World War II, having served also in the
South Pacific. After his retirement from grocery sales, he
enjoyed many years of his favorite pastimes, gardening and
attending senior social dances. He married Ila Rhea Myers on
March 20, 1947. She preceded him in death, as well as three
sisters, his three brothers and son-in-law Eddie Sherman. He
is survived by two daughters, Linda Byrd and her husband, Stacey,
of Poyen and Welda Sherman of Hot Springs; five grandsons,
Scott Williams of California, Brian Williams of Malvern, Kalieb
Sherman of Hot Springs, Ben Sherman of Hot Springs and Joshua
Byrd of Poyen; one grand-daughter, Brandi Byrd of Poyen; two
great-grandsons, Luke Williams of Malvern and Grant Williams
of Malvern; one sister, Dean Atchley and her husband, Jim,
of Bismarck. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
June 27, 2006, in Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Edgar
Simmons officiating. His body lay in state on Monday, June
26, 2006, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers
were Larry Grinder, Austin Grinder, Eddie Conklin and Mike
Jett. Honorary Pallbearers were “His Girls” Diane
Jackson, Casey Wells, Joann Warrick, Clara Robinson and Jackie
Manning. Military Honors by United States Army Honors Team.
Interment was in Tulip Cemetery of Dallas County. Arrangements
were under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern.
