Beverly Burroughs Huddleston, born December 26, 1941 in Fordyce,
AR, longtime resident of New Orleans, LA, and a recent resident
of Harrison, AR, passed away at The Gardens at Osage Terrace
in Bentonville, on December 30, 2007 at 2:45 p.m.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paige and
Darren "Shaggy" Francis of Rogers; grandchild, Fox
Hollis Francis of Rogers; sister and brother-in-law, Betsy
and Jay Penix of Springdale; nephews Judd Penix of Springdale,
Lee Penix of Fayetteville, and Ben Penix and his wife Leslie
of Fayetteville; former husband and friend, Roger Lee Harrison
of Rogers.
Beverly was a maid to the Queen of the Cotton in Memphis,
TN, in 1959, and was a member of the 1963 Senior Class of Hendrix
College (last semester, honor roll and Dean’s List).
She was the lead majorette for the 1960 Hendrix band, the last
year that the school played football.
Beverly’s charm, joy, wit, infectious laughter, and
effervescent personality endeared her to many, many people,
young and old, wherever she lived. She was an accomplished
social worker, dancer, and tennis-player. She adored and doted
upon her daughter, sister, and nephews and will be eternally
missed by those whose lives she touched.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Lea Huddleston
of Harrison, AR; infant son, John Stephen Harrison of Fordyce,
AR; and her parents, Hollis and Lucile Burroughs of Fordyce,
AR.
Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce, Arkansas is in charge of the
arrangements.
