Hazel Hughes Smith Dodge, 76 of Shreveport,
LA died Sunday January 27, 2008 at the Landmark Nursing
Home in West Monroe. Born February 25, 1931 at Manning,
AR, she was a daughter of the late Willie Roscoe and
Croma Gresham Hughes. She was preceded in death by her
husbands, Charles Smith and Leonard T. Dodge; and a sister,
Helen Thomas.
Survivors include a son, Charles Kevin Smith of Mansfield,
TX; two daughters, Patricia VonHollen of Hughesville,
MD, Charlotte Thompson of West Monroe, LA; one sister,
Rachel Spurlock of Blanchard, LA; four grandchildren,
Renee & husband Garry Brendle, Lance & wife Julie VonHollen,
Chip & wife Dana Thompson, and Kyle & wife Brandi Smith and five
great-grandchildren, Riley Lewis, Madison Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Karson
Smith & Kallie Smith.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Benton Funeral Home
Chapel in Fordyce, AR with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Burial will
follow in Liberty Cemetery near Fordyce. Arrangements by Benton Funeral
