Carter Archer 


LITTLE ROCK - Carter Lamar Archer, 85, of Little Rock, formerly of Carthage (Dallas County), died April 11, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. 

Born April 5, 1917, at Carthage, he was a son of the late Crum Archer and Annie Carter Archer. 

He was a lifelong member of Western Hills United Methodist Church at Little Rock. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from Little Rock Schools and also retired from the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock as a maintenance supervisor. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mae Archer. 

Survivors include one son, Tommy Archer of White Hall; three daughters, Annette Youtz of Little Rock, Patsy Golenor of Hot Springs and Jean Fishel of South Carolina; three brothers, Jewell Archer of Fordyce, Dale Archer of Illinois and James Archer of Little Rock; one sister, Bonnie Lusk of Little Rock; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Stoney Point Cemetery near Fordyce with the Rev. Jay McAlister officiating. Funeral arrangements will be by Benton Funeral Home at Fordyce.
