Clara Horne

Clara Lee Horne, age 87, of Malvern passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Sparkman, Ark., to John Edward Daniel Hamm and Mattie Lee Ross Hamm. She was a retired employee of Westbend Cookware. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Clara was a foster grandmother for Head Start in Malvern.
She is survived by three daughters, Clarice Moore of Malvern, Ark., Hettie Wilson and husband, Jimmy C. of Malvern, Ark., and Mattie Reynolds of Hot Springs, Ark.; 16 grandchildren 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Perry Horne; her parents; a daughter, Lillie Efird; a son, Charles Brooks; two brothers, Clarance Hamm and Joe Hamm; a sister, Bessie Wheeler; and a great-grandchild, Stephanie Gehring.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Rossen and Brother Larry Swiger officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in L`eau Fraiz Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Daniel Long, Jimmy Ray Wilson, Perry Joe Wilson, Ray Keister, Michael Nabors, Raymond Nabors, Gary Nabors and William Wilson. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Nabors.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all Clara’s nurse’s aides who have helped over the years.
