Onie Walton Ray Lea, age 93, went to be with her Lord Nov. 25, 2008. She was born Oct. 12, 1915, near Dalark, Ark., to the late Robert (Bob) and Nancy Armanda Walton. She was a member of Tulip Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Extension Homemakers Club. Her hobby was piecing and quilting quilts.


She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Ray and Kennith Lea; brother, Jessie Walton; sisters, Pauline Fite, Selma Ellis and Lou Cotton; and a granddaughter, Ruth Jones.

Survivors are one daughter, Virginia Lea and husband, Wayne of Malvern, Ark.; one step-daughter, Linda Wilson and husband, Jerry of Forest City, Ark.; two step-sons, Don Lea and wife, Pat of Granada, Miss., and Charles Lea and wife, Ellen of Pensacola, Fla.; one granddaughter; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ester Heater of Vancouver, Wash.; a special sister-in-law, Jo Rood; a number of special nieces and nephews; and all the Angels of Mercy Hospice Home Care in Hot Springs.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Batts officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ouachita Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Thomas McJunkin, Michael Still, Mark Still, Terry Still, Don Rood and Doug Rood. Honorary pallbearers are Don Still and Henry Ray.
