Denorris “DD” Walker, age 53, of Leola, Ark., died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on June 20, 1955, in Leola, Ark., to the late Edward and Ortha Smith Walker. He was self-employed with Walker Farms until his health failed.
He was known by “DD” and loved by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
He is survived by five sisters, Edna Mae Smith of Carthage, Carolene (Santiago) Martinez of Leola, Janet Robinson of Little Rock, Laugretta (Duane) Williams of Malvern and Deborah (George) Hawkins of Leola; special cousin, Connie Mae Crain of Malvern; special nephew, Carmichael Hawkins of Leola and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Toones Chapel AME Church, Tulip, Ark. Minister will be Natalie Thomas, eulogist will be Rev. Roy Smith and Rev. James Highsmith will officiate.
Burial will be in Toones Cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Visitation for family and friends was held Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers are Don Faison, Antonio Owens, Willie Robinson, James Smith, Marvin Smith and John Smith, Jr.
