Brooks, Zettie Marie (Matlock)

Arkadelphia, Ark. - 

Zettie Marie Matlock Brooks, 74, of Hope, died Sunday in Arkansas Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Texarkana, Ark.  She was born Dec. 8, 1934, daughter of  Wiley and Velma Turner Matlock in Sparkman.


She was a member of Williams Memorial COGIC in Nashville, Ark., where she served as church mother, former hospitality president and former member of the Voices of Praise. She was also a member of the Southwest Arkansas Dialysis Support Group and former employee of Golden Age Nursing Center.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Brooks, her parents, step-mother Bessie Matlock and sister, Betty Lou Dickerson.


Survivors include her son, Elder Frank Selders,  four brothers, Eddie Lea  Matlock of Little Rock, Eddie Matlock of Memphis, Tenn., Floyd Matlock of Milwaukee, Wis., and Larry Matlock of Sparkman, six sisters, Bobbie Daily of Princeton, Emma Perry of Milwaukee, Wis., Betty Owens of Carthage, JoAnn Matlock of Memphis, Tenn., Carolyn Matlock of Hot Springs,  and Cora Adams of Sparkman; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.


Services will be held Sunday at 1  p.m. at Williams Memorial COGIC,  superintendent E. A. Edwards officiating. Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sparkman by Williams Funeral Home, Inc.


Visitation will be Saturday at Williams Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., and at Williams Memorial COGIC, Nashville, from 6  p.m. – 7 p.m.
