Jimmy R. Lawrence, age 73 of Magnet Cove, died Friday, June 26, 2009 surrounded by his family at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs.   He was born on June 6, 1936 in Willow, Arkansas to the late Odis and Eva Tate Lawrence.  Reared and educated at Willow, he was the husband of Connie Munger Lawrence, to whom he was married on February 14, 1976 in Little Rock.  Jimmy was a Baptist.  He was a truck driver, singer and musician with his own band.  Jimmy also worked in the Pro Shop at Oaklawn Lanes.  Before his illness he was an avid bowler and loved to ride his Honda Trike.  He was a past member of Abate 14 and GWRRA, (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) Chapter E.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Vicki and her husband Ronnie Wright of Bauxite, and J’Ne Marie Hutson of Little Rock; a son, Sean and his wife, Courtney of Magnet Cove; two sisters, Alice Sevier of Hernando, Mississippi, and Elsie Harper of Fordyce; one brother, Odis Lawrence, Jr. of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Jamie Burton, Adrieanna Hutson, Abraham Hutson, Tanner Lawrence, and Madison Lawrence; and three great-grandchildren, Jessie, Dylan, and Kody Burton.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey and Jerry Lawrence, and by a sister, Shirley Edwards.

A graveside service will be held at Tulip Cemetery on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2009 at ten o’clock with Brother Kenneth Mitchell officiating.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2009 from six until eight o’clock.

Honorary pallbearers are Rich Roth, LeRoy Lott, Danny Wilson, Harold Beason, Bob White, Michael Stephens, Joe Frye, GWRRA Chapter E Members, Arkansas Hospice on 5 West, Roger Burchfield, Elbert Walker, and Dr. and Mrs. Ab Tilley.
