Selina Katherine Rodgers, 86, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at National Park Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1922 in Tulip, Arkansas to the late Roy and Mary D. Caughman. She spent her working life in Hot Springs in the restaurant business. Selina was the former owner and operator of the Stop Inn Café of Lakeside. There she made many friends. Selina was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Everett Rodgers, brother, Charlton Caughman, and sister, Ann Rodgers.
Loving survivors include three sisters: Rowena Caraway, of Silsbee, TX; Mary Jo Voss, of Tulip, AR; and Isla Laird, of Hot Springs, nieces: Sharon Richardson, of Texarkana, AR; Susan Andrus, of Silsbee, TX; Phyllis Voss, of Cabot; Paula Duchene, of New York; and Lesa Cate, of Malvern; nephews: Bryan Rodgers, of Texarkana, Rickey Laird, of Hot Springs; Steven Caraway, Silsbee, TX; and William Voss, of Malvern; and their families.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Tulip, AR with her nephew, Steven Caraway officiating. Burial will be in Tulip Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Bryan Rodgers, Rickey Laird, Ricky Richardson, Justin Richardson, Terry Cate, and Kevin Cate.
