James Edward Turner, Sr. 86, of Fordyce died Tuesday January 27, 2009 at his home. He was born August 27, 1922 in Thornton, Arkansas to the late William Jesse Turner and Allie Sevier Turner. Mr. Turner honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church in El Dorado, NRA, and former Fordyce Lion’s Club President. He was also retired President of Turner W.S.D. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary K. Turner of Fordyce; two sons, James E. “Eddy” Turner, Jr. of Thornton and Mark Allen Turner of Camden; two daughters, Paula Huff of Hot Springs Village, and Jamie L. Carelock of El Dorado; six grandchildren, Teri Whited of Cordova, MD, Toni West of Thornton, Kristy Woolsey of El Dorado, James E. “Eddy” Turner, III of Thornton, Kameron Turner and Markie Turner of Camden; four great-grandchildren, Nick McCaskill , Shelby McCaskill both of Cordova, MD, Levi West of Thornton and Seth West of El Dorado. Visitation will be Friday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Burial at Stoney Point Cemetery near Fordyce.
