Estate of A. J. Tagart


April 22, 1869 Now on this day comes J.P. Tagart as administrator of the estate of A.J. Tagart, and asks leave to file the appertinent lists in said estate, which is by the courts approved and ordered to be filed.

Estate of Jordan Denton, deceased

April 22, 1869 Now on this day the clerk presents to the court the sales bill of the personal property of said estate amounting to the sun of one hundred and ninety seven 85/100 dollars, which is approved and ordered to be filed.

Estate of T.K. Johnson, deceased

April 22, 1869 Now on this day comes Thos.N. Gulledge Robt. I. West and John West, hertofore by the court appointed commissioners to assign dower in the lands belonging to said estate present here to the court the following reports which is in *** and figures as follows to wit, We the undersigned commissioners appointed by the Hon Probate Court for the county of Drew and State of Arkansas, at the October term one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven thereof, to assign dower in and to the lands belonging to the estate of Thomas K. Johnson (rest is missing from my notes)

Estate of E. Carlton

July 19, 1869 Now on this day comes James A. Jackson as one of the administrators of said estate and asks leave to file his 7th and final account current, which is ordered to be filed, advertised and continued over to the next term of this court subject to the inspection of all parties therein interested.

Estate of J.C. Glenn?

July 19, 1869 Now on this day the 8th and final account current of D.D. Daniels as administrator of said estate is presented and ordered to be filed and continued over until the next term of this court subject to the inspection of all parties therein interested.

William Ellis, plaintiff vs. Aldenon Ruff, deft. as administrator of the estate of Jordan Denton

July 19, 1869 Now on this day comes said parties by attorney and said plaintiff files his claim against said estate in the sum of four hundred and thirty 49/100 dollars, after arguments of council, neither party electing to have a jury to try the ***, said claim is by the courts rejected. It is therefore considered that said defendant recover of said plaintiff all his cost in this just? expended, to which rulings of the court *** plaintiff at the time excepted.

Estate of Jordan Denton

July 20, 1869 Now on this day comes Aldenon Ruff as administrator of said estate by attorney, and presents his petition to the court, showing *** the court that William Ellis has brought suit against against said estate for the sum of over four hundred dollars, and praying an order of this court empowering and directing him to employ an attorney to defend the same, said petition is heard and prayer granted.

Estate of W.H. Cummings, deceased

July 25, 1869 It is ordered by the court that the bond of S.R. Briggs, heretofore paid and approved, be increased two thousand dollars.

Estate of Wm Manney, deceased

October 25, 1869 Now on this day comes James Boyd administrator debonis non of the estate of William Manney deceased and asks leave to file his first and final account current in said estate which is ordered to be filed, advertised and continued untilt he next term of this court, subject to the inspection of all parties herein interested.

Estate of Parker Thurman,deceased

October 21, 1868 Now on this day the annual account current of R.H. Withers administrator of the estate of Perkins? Thurman deceased coming up for examination and approval the same is by the court ordered to be continued over until the next term of this court for want of proper vouchers.

Estate of Wm J. Montgomery deceased, 3d account current approved

October 21, 1868 Now on this day the third annual account current of Eli K. Haynes as administrator of the estate of Wm. J. Montgomery, deceased, coming up for examination and the same having been regularly filed, advertised and continued over to this term of the court and no objections having been filed thereto or to any item thereof, the same is in all things confirmed and approved by the court and ordered to be spread at length upon the record of administrators settlement.

Estate of Peter Hasken,deceased, 1st account current approved

October 21, 1868 Now on this day the first annual account current of Sarah Hasken as administrator of the estate of Peter Hasken, deceased, comes up for examination and approval, the same having been filed advertised and continued over to this term of the court and no objections having been filed thereto as to any item thereof and it appearing in all things current is approved and confirmed by the court and ordered to be spread at length upon the record of administrators settlements.

Estate of John J. Baugh, deceased, 1st account current approved

October 21, 1868 Now on this day the first account current of Nancy C. Baugh as administratrix of the estate of John J. Baugh deceased comes up for examination and approval, the same having been filed, continued and advertised and no objections having been filed hereto or to any item thereof the same by the court examined and approved by the court and ordered to be spread at length upon the record of administrators settlements.

S.E. Cole

October 29, 1869 It is ordered by the court that S.E. Cole purchase for the use of the county a iron safe not to exceed the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars.

P.R. Smith County Treasurer

October 29, 1869 Now on this day comes P.R. Smith county treasurer within and for the county of Drew, and turns over to the court in county sessions, jury tickets and witness tickets the sum of sixteen thousand one hundred and ninety one dollars and seventy cents (#16,191.70) whereupon the court allows said treasurer the sum of three hundred and seventy three dollars and eighty-three cents (373.83) as his commission on same and the clerk is hereby instructed to give said treasurer credit with said sums amounting in the aggregate to the sum of sixteen thousand five hundred and sixty five dollars and fifty three cents.

Ebenezer P. Stewart

October 14, 1867 It is ordered by the court that William P. Montague as common school commissioner be and he is hereby ordered and directed to execute to Ebenezer P. Stewart a deed to the following lands to wit- Block number thirteen fourteen and fifteen in Section Sixteen township nine range eight west cvontaining ninty? eight acres the same having been paid out.

Lamon C. Morgan

October 14, 1867 Lamon C. Morgan appointed constable for Veasy township. Now on this day comes James S. Grubbs, Esq. and on his motion asks that Lamon C. Morgan be appointed constable of Veasy township to fill the vacancy occasioned by the removal of Thomas W. Grubbs. Whereof on the court doth appoint said Lamon C. Morgan constable for Veasy township to fill the unexpired term of Thos W. Grubbs who has been removed from office by his complying with the law in giving bonds and securities.

Robt. McClay VS. Drew County

October 14, 1867 Comes Robt. McClay and presents to the court for allowance his jury ticket amounting to the sum of two dollars which is by the court examined and allowed by the court and amount ordered for same.

S.P. Sumner VS. Drew County

October 14, 1867 Comes S.P. Sumner and presents to the court for allowance his jury and witness certificates amounting to the sum of eight dollars which is by the court examined and allowed and amount ordered for same.

Collins Township

January 15, 1867 George W. Grace overseer on road district No. 1 it being the Lucy and Cut Off road extending from the Ferguson township line to the Cutoff.
William Phillips overseer on road district No. 2 it being the lucy and Cutoff road extending from the Bearhouse township line where it intersects the Gains Landing road.
Peter Sumner overseer on road district No. 3 it being the Monticello and Gains Landing road extending from the Cut Off Bridge to the Prairie Township line.
Andrew Collins overseer on road district No. 4 it *** the Gains Landing and Monticello road extending from the Cutoff bridge to the Bartholomew township line.
Oliver Collins overseer on road district No. 5 it being the Cutoff and Selma road extending from the Cutoff bridge to the Bartholomew township line.

October 23, 1866

John Baker Sr. comes and present shis claim against the county for service as Judge of an election for which the court doth allow him one dollar.
Shipman Denton comes and presents his claim against the county for services as Judge of an election for which the court doth allow him one dollar.
Isaac Franks comes and presents his claims against the county in the sum of one dollar for services as clerk of an election which is by the court allowed.
J.W. Rowell comes and presents his claim against the county for services as clerk of an election for which the court allowed him one dollar.
George W. Box- Comes George W. Box and presents his claim against the county for services as Judge of an election for which the court doth allow him one dollar.
Thomas Smith-Comes Thos. Smith and present s a claim against the county for services as Judge of an election for which the court doth allow him ten(crossed out with 50 wrote above it, then)dollar.
C.W. Dowell-comes C.W. Dowell and presents a claim against the county for services as clerk of an election for which the court doth allow him one dollar.
Richard Reap-Comes Richard Reap and presents a claim against the county for services as clerk of an election for which the court doth allow him one dollar.
Sidney Piner-Comes Sidney Piner and presents a claim against the county in the sum of two dollars and fifty cents as Judge and retiring of polls of an election which is by the court ordered.
