PIONEER CITIZEN IS DEAD ----------

A.N. Shaw of Saltillo Passed Away Thursday of Last Week

A.N. Shaw died at his home near Saltillo last Thursday of pneumonia. Mr. Shaw was 56 years of age and came to this county before the Civil War. He was a member of the Masonic, Woodmen and Farmers Union fraternities and his funeral was conducted by these orders.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife and though thirteen children were born to them, only three are living. He also leaves three brothers, M.F. Shaw of Memphis, Texas, George Shaw of this city and W.S. Shaw of Hamlet, and two sisters, Mrs. A.B. Jeffries of Hamlet and Mrs. Susan Edmonson of Little Rock.

Mrs. Nannie Shaw, widow of the late A.N. Shaw, died late Friday afternoon at the residence of her son, John Shaw, on Sixth Street in the southeastern part of the city.

The funeral was held there today and burial was in New Liberty cemetery.

Mr. Shaw died in this county in 1906.
