Introduction:

Here are transcriptions of marriage records I copied at the Ozark Franklin County Courthouse in May of 2009. While I only transcribed the marriage records of interest to me, all of the marriage records mentioning a bride and/or groom are included on my list of selected abstractions.

I have stuck strictly to what I saw at least on names, dates and places. Sometimes minor words (such as legalese) were assumed from the surrounding text or corrected for legibility where they could be discerned, although badly spelled or worse. At times I have included [sic] after a word to show I have written as misspelled or added question marks or other things to show a word or phrase was difficult to make out. However, to have included [sic] after every word that had a misspelling or was poorly written would have been time-consuming and difficult to read.

Although I have tried to be accurate and thorough, I have done this alone and not had someone to double check all of my work. Corrections are welcome.

Brackets are used to denote my comments or to show words or letters that were so difficult to read I could not be reasonably sure what they were.

Bolded text denotes handwriting. Unbolded text is printed characters, such as used in forms.

These records were transcribed from photocopies of originals stored at the Franklin County Courthouse in Ozark. The copies were made in May of 2009 and transcribed later. Where text is unclear due to dimness of text, the original might provide more detail. Corrections welcome.
