 Dear Don Kelly
Can you please list my web site on your Franklin County usgenweb board?
My ancestor Vincent Taylor was married to Sicily Jane Dickerson Garrett
in Missouri in 1857.  After Vincent Taylor died in 1865 in MO-Sicily moved to
 Franklin
County, Arkansas with her eldest son Benjamin Franklin Garrett.

Please come check out my web site.  You will find the section on Garrett's
under " William D. Garrett & Sicily Jane Dickerson-Pittsylvania Co., Virginia
 family"

Sally Shelby must have lived near Cecil, Franklin Co., AR during the period 1910 and after as she was a friend of one or more of my Harris great-uncles. I have several photographs of her that I would like to return to her family. Thanks for your help.

My husbands great grandfather was Alexander Mayner born Mar 1850 Breathitt
Co KY (spelling still debatable could be Mainer or Mainard or Maynard I have
seen it many ways).  Alexander and your Sarah A Mainard were children of
Pleasant  Mayner (Mainard) born 1813 NC died after 1870 census and Mary ?
born Ky.  Alexander married twice in Franklin Co AR and his daughter Sarah
Jane also married in Franklin Co.  I would very much like to discuss this
line with you or anyone else who might have information on the Mayner
(Mainard) line that came from Ky to Franklin Co AR

Paula,
This all I have on Thomas J. Childers.
Was listed on the Hardeman Co., Tenn. 1860, census, as being b. in Tenn. 1860.
I am sure that is my line.
But the two marriage cert. from Franklin Co., Ark. I have no proof that this
Thomas is my line.
Thomas J. Childers of Mulberry, in the Co. of Franklin and the State of Ark,
aged 21 years, and Miss Mattie Crabtree of Mulberry in the Co., of Franklin
and state of Ark. aged 20 years, according to law, were married on Oct. 23,
1884.
Then , in 1890, there was a Marriage of Thomas J Childers, Jr. of Watalula in
Franklin Co., ages 26 years married Miss Theo Carter of Lonelin ?, Co.
Franklin, Ark. aged nineteen. were married on the 22nd of Sept., 1890.
It would appear that this is the same Thomas. My Thomas would have been a Jr.
as his father was Thomas Jefferson.
It would seem that some one somewhere would know of these people.
I have checked on the other Childers families in Franklin Co., Ark., and have
not found a Thomas J. in their line.
Take care,
Bonnie

QUERY: Nancy A. WALDEN (daughter of:Thomas Cherry Walden/Naomi FOWLER. Nancy married George Washington St. CLAIR in Franklin County ARK1876. Seeking information on ancestors of Great Grandmother's Nancy. Also would like to find out who raised 2 children of George Sr. and Nancy: George Jr. and Leanna. Nancy "adopted them out" so she could marry Jesse Casey in 1882. George was eventually taken in by a doctor and raised to become a doctor also. He never knew who had his little sister (3-5 yrs old) Leanna. Since she was born in Franklin County and married 3 times in Webb City, I believe she must have been raised there also.

SURNAME: MORRIS:
QUERY: Dear Mr. Kelly: In wandering through Arkansas web sites the other day, I came across the one for Franklin County, and happened on the story concerning J.J. Morris. Mr. Morris was my great grandfather through my grandmother Cora Morris Arbaugh, and my mother Marjorie Elizabeth Arbaugh Crews. I happen to have a variety of pictures of people and places in Franklin County, and would be willing to let you use them for your site. Specifically, I have a picture of the J.J. Morris family, which probably taken before 1910, and it could have been before 1900. It was taken in front of the Morris house, near Altus. Considering the article which you have on the site, it might be appropriate to have a copy of the picture, and the names of the people in it. My mother included the married names of the women in the picture, so there is probably a bit of connection for other people who might be doing family research. What is left of the Morris family currently is centered in the central portion of California, and they still have family reunions each summer. If you are interested in anything which I have, I would be willing to scan them for you, and send them as attachments to an email. If I dig through things, I think I also have an elevated view of either Denning or Altus. Anyway, if you have some interest in this, let me know.
