ELIZABETH CEMETERY

Surveyed by Della J. (Sanders) Glenn in the early 1980s.  Additional input from Jim Young and Janic Foster has been added.
This survey is not complete.
The cemetery is located about 1/2 mile northeast of Elizabeth, Arkansas, in Fulton County.
The land for the cemetery may have been donated by Tom H. Hammond.
This is an old cemetery and there is an old arbor in the cemetery that is still used for dinners on Decoration Sunday,
which is always the 4th Sunday in May.
People meet there, mainly from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, take their dinner,
eat under the old arbor and visit with one another, having a great time.
There is some seating in the arbor and many people take their chairs.
Some people make the trip back every year, to decorate the graves and visit the living.
The directions to the cemetery are as follows:  from the Elizabeth Post Office, go north about 500 feet to a "Y" in the road.
Take the right, go about 300 feet and turn right again.
Continue east about 1/4 mile to the cemetery on the right side of the road.
Many thanks to all our Fulton County historians for submitting the following information.
