Amanda Ruth Fitzgerald, age 97, of Sheridan passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. She was born December 17, 1911 in Sheridan, a daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Crutchfield Edwards. She married Elmer Raymond Fitzgerald in Malvern, Arkansas. Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed several years with the Sheridan Public School District. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964.
She is survived by four children, Ruth Marie Fitzgerald (Jack) Bunch of North Little Rock, Raymond (Viola) Fitzgerald of Sheridan, Paul D. (Penny) Fitzgerald of Hot Springs Village, John Dennis (June) Fitzgerald of Sherwood; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Brother Joe Goodwin and Brother Darrell Harris officiating. Burial followed at Corinth Cemetery near Sheridan. Pallbearers were Todd Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald, Ricky Fitzgerald, Wayne Hitt, Marty Lancaster, David Fitzgerald. Arrangements were under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
