O’Steen, Hazel (Taylor)

Hazel "Dude" Taylor O’Steen of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 7, 1925 in Conway County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Andrew and Annie Bell Goodnight Taylor. 

She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Sheridan, Arkansas and enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, and hummingbirds."Dude" loved people and never met a stranger.

Mrs. O’Steen died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at her home at the age of 83.

Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Thomas O’Steen of Sheridan; Sons, Eddie and wife Charlotte O’’Steen of Sheridan; Garry and wife Vicki O’Steen of Sheridan; Brother, Doyle Taylor of Adona; Sisters, Gussie Hewitt of Murphreesboro and Barbara Hopkinson of Phoenix, Arizona; 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Gale Umholtz officiating. Burial was in Jackson Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were James Abernathy, Gene Brown, Donald Tubbs, D.L. Taylor, Daniel Taylor and Paul Wilson.

 Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
