Ruth Koon Stubbs of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 27, 1917 at Sheridan, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophronia Puckett Koon. She was a member of Hope Pentecostal Church and was employed by Sheridan SchoolCafeteria Association and was a caregiver at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Mrs. Stubbs died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bert Stubbs; Grandson, Wilford Stokes Kemp, Jr.; Brother, Boyce Koon; Sisters, Alice Donaldson, Inez Harrington, Joelma Swindal, Eula Ross, Edna Crutchfield, Jewell Koon and Faye Williams.
Survivors include her Son, Marvin and wife Linda Stubbs of Sheridan; Daughters, Gladys Kyzer of West Memphis,Henrietta and husband Hugo Bustamante of Bella Vista, and Kathryn and husband Don Bell of Sheridan; Brother,
Raymond and wife Margaret Koon of Sheridan; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Walt Hollis officiating. Burial followed in Lost Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Lynn Stubbs, Mark Stubbs, Mike Stubbs, Denton Bell, Donald Tubbs and Daren Bell. Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons and her great great grandsons.
