VAN DERVOORT HOTEL

To those the nature of whose business necessitates constant travel and the traveling public whose name is legion, no feature of modern  progress possesses more interest than good hotel accommodations, and therefore it is that the admirably conducted hostelry-- the Van Dervoort Hotel--becomes the center of such genuine interest and and concern.

This house was built at a cost of $100,000 and opened to the public about two years ago. It is one of the most thoroughly modern and up-to-date hotels in this section and would reflect credit upon a city several times the size of Paragould. It is a  four story brick structure, equipped with all modern conveniences and contains 80 spacious, well ventilated and elegantly furnished guest rooms, some 45 of which being equipped with private bath, The house is operated on the American plan with rates of $3.00 per day and up, and are very reasonable considering the excellence of the service that prevails. The large dining room is handsomely furnished and inviting, which with the spotless linen, shining silverware and sparkling glassware, is an inducement to the most dormant appetite to partake of the good things spread before guests, all selected with that care which indicates long experience by the management.

From the date of its inception this hotel has enjoyed gratifying patronage, and is now recognized headquarters for commercial men who visit Paragould. Large sample rooms are at the disposal of commercial travelers who sell goods from samples. The Van Dervoort Hotel is owned by the Paragould Hotel Co., and very ably managed by L. L. Van Dervoort. He is one of the best known and most capable hotel men in the State, has hundreds of friends among both the local and traveling public, and is a live booster for Paragould and Northeast Arkansas.

WALLACE P. WOODARD

For a manufacturer of ready made clothing turning out suits in hundred dozen lots to install any individuality into his products is an impossibility. No matter how widely he advertises, he cannot build his clothes to conform with the characteristics of a customer he will never see. The above is a forerunner to the statement that if you wish to have your garments to conform with your individual lines, you should have your clothes made by Wallace P. Woodard, designer and builder of artistic apparel for men. He has made the tailoring business a study for years and his intimate knowledge of his calling enables him to please the most discriminating class of patrons. This is amply attested by his large patronage. He features two of the best lines of woolens in the United States--that of the National Tailors of St. Louis and the Bruner line. All garments are cut and made here in his own shop by expert men in this line. Mr. Woodard also does cleaning, pressing and repair work in an efficient manner. He is an enterprising and popular citizen and has a large circle of friends who are pleased to congratulate him on the success that has crowned his efforts. His shop is located at 113 West Court Street.

Paragould is experiencing no boom nor does it seek one. It's growth has been due to it's ideal geographical location, its many natural resources and advantages and the progressive spirit of its citizens and business men who have availed themselves of its advantages and profited thereby.
