Distant and close-up view of the headstone of Memory C. Gramling, son of Benjamin M. Gramling and Mary Wilson Gramling. Memory is buried in Pruett's Chapel Cemetery in Greene County. Memory came to Greene County with his parents as a young man in the late 1850's. At the start of war, Memory enlisted in Company D, 5th Arkansas Infantry, CSA. He was wounded twice in battle and received a field promotion to the rank of lieutenant before being wounded a third time from a shell explosion in which he lost his left arm. He chose to remain in the field until the end of the war at\ which time he returned to Arkansas. Memory was a successful farmer, businessman, and held several political offices in Greene County.
