Hunters Are Getting Busy

Hunters are oiling their guns , laying in a supply of ammunition and expect to indulge in some real sport for few months as the open season for deer and turkeys begins September 1, 1909 . There will be no penalty for killing deer until January 31 and the turkey season is open until April 30, 1910.

The season for prairie chickens open November 1, 1909 it used to be October 1 but the legislature changed it.

A provision in the game laws states that game cannot be shipped out of state that game cannot be legally sold nor exchanged. It is against the law for non - residents to hunt in the state .

Cache River has gone down several feet. as the result of the great drainage project now in progress.

The sportsmen say that fishing is has never been better . Large crowds are visiting Stonewall from Paragould every day and are meeting with splendid success returning with fine strings of Finny tribe.
