Thelma Strader



Thelma Strader, 85, of Paragould, passed away August 1, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Born December 19, 1923, in Buena Vista, TN., she was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Boyd and Strader Grain Elevator. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Wayne Strader of Pleasant Hope, MO., one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Fay and Larry Joe Miller of Paragould; two sisters, Betty Ruth Owens of Mena and Rebecca Ann Yates of Nixa, MO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and by several other relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5th, 3,00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Benjamin Shadwick officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2,00 p.m. until service time at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Richard Lando Cullen



Richard Lando Cullen, 73, of Pico Rivera, CA., formerly of Paragould, passed away August 1, 2009, Whittier, CA.

Born March 15, 1936, he was a veteran of both the Army and Navy and a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11th at 1:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening 6 until 9, Mitchell Funeral Home.

John Earl Steele



John Earl Steele, 57, of Paragould, passed away August 2, 2009 at his residence. Born October 25, 1951, in Memphis, TN., he was a homebuilder, and member of East Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Violet Austin of Paragould; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Kelly Stevens and Amanda and Nathan Whitt, all of Paragould and Kelly Payne of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by sisters, Linda Halcomb, and Penny Sparks, of Paragould, Ann Davis of Memphis, and Vicky Ward of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, Brandy, Teka, Kindra, Kayle, Asa, and Dalton; and by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Perry Steele; one brother, Ricky Steele; and one grandson, Adam Matthew.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 5th, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6,00 until 9,00 at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Henry Abbott, Kenny Abbott, Anthony Halcomb, Troy Sparks, Leland Bryant, and Adam Ring. Chris Autry will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

William Lawrence Bowlin

 

William Lawrence Bowlin, 88, of Walcott, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1920.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Roy Iris and Rosa Lee Elliott Bowlin; brother, Frankie Alton Bowlin.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, James Iris and Phyllis Bowlin of Arthur, NE.; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Dean Pollock of Walcott; sister-in-law, Geneva Bowlin of Conway, AR. eight nieces, four nephews, several cousins and a great number of other family members.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening 5:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday August 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Revs. Raymond Atwood and Ken Overton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillip and Tom Pollock, Randall Bowlin, Bill and Bob Elliott and Joe Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sr. Adult Men's Class of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Memorials may be sent to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Bus Ministry or St. Bernard's Hospice.

Bobby Joe Reed



Bobby Joe Reed, 55, of Paragould passed away at his home Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer. Born December 7, 1953, to Harold Reed and Lois (Hill) Reed, he was of the Catholic faith, a truck driver and a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his father, one son, Bobby J. Strainis; two brothers, Billy Reed and Harold Reed; and one sister, Donna Reed.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Hill Reed; three sons, Mark Strainis and wife, Dawn Ramos, of Chicago, James Reed of IL., and Earl Reed of Paragould; one daughter, Jamie Reed; one brother, Johnny Reed; three sisters, Paula Rogers and husband, Ralph, of Lafe, Nancy Smith of Paragould and Mary Reed; several grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services will be today at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, with the Rev. Jerry Kersey officiating. Faith Funeral Service of Manila is in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Christine Berry

 

Hazel Christine Eubanks Berry, 88, formerly of Paragould, departed this earthly life August 3, 2009, in Memphis, TN.
Mrs. Berry was born February 19, 1921, in Manila. She was a retired tax preparer and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Tanya (Jim) Howell of Southaven, Mississippi; two sons, Clifford (Wilma) Eubanks of Troy, AL., Gordon (Wanda) Eubanks of Murray, KY., a sister, Cavine Gooch of Cabot, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Hudgens, her mother, Emma Hall; her first husband, Cecil Eubanks; her second husband, Allen Berry; and by her brother, Calvin Hudgens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 6th, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Keith Eubanks, Terry Gooch, Ernest Sheppard, David Sheppard, Terry Sanders, and Lavoy Sanders.

Wanda Lee Fisackerly
 


Wanda Lee Fisackerly, 82, of Monticello (formerly of Paragould) passed away Aug. 4, 2009, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Fisackerly was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Cash to the late Arthur and Ruth (Worlow) Easley. Fisackerly was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Fisackerly and a sister, Geneda Collins.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Fisackerly and wife, Susan, of Flint, MI., and Larry Fisackerly and wife Shirley of Monticello; four grandchildren, Michael Fisackerly and wife, Andi, Derek Fisackerly and Scott Fisackerly, all of Flint, MI., Stacy Usry and husband, Ryan, of Monticello; two great-grandsons, Aidan and Dylan Fisackerly of Flint, MI., one expected great-grandson, Colton Lane Usry, who will be born in November; one sister, Pat Barker of Jonesboro; three brothers, Jim Easley and wife, Pat, of Bentonville, Bill Easley and wife, Wilma of Jonesboro and Bob Easley and wife, Mary, of North Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 7th at Roller-Farmer’s Union Chapel in Jonesboro with Gene Wood and Paul Mowrer officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Cash. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Monticello Church of Christ in Monticello. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Jax Cullen Sackman

 

Jax Cullen Sackman, of Paragould, passed away August 4, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould. He was born July 10, 2009, in Paragould.
Survivors include his parents, Nic and Courtney Sackman of Paragould; one sister, Gabriella Hope of Paragould; his paternal grandparents, Michael and Gale Sackman of Pocahontas; and maternal grandparents, Greg and Terri Mangrum of Paragould. He is also survived by his paternal great grandparents, Marie Johnson of Yakima, Washington, Robert and Lois Sackman of Pocahontas; maternal great grandparents, Lowell Mangrum of Ravenden, and Mary Etta Remagen of Mountain Home; aunts, Katelyn Mangrum, Elizabeth Sackman and Becky Mraz; and uncles, Zeb Blansett, Adam Layne, Chris Layne, John K. Elledge, and John W. Elledge.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Nickolas Crews Sackman; and by maternal great grandparents, Wayne Johnson and Joe and Frances Crews.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Monday, August 10th, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Royce Boling officiating. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Justin Broadway and Dustin Betts.

Juanita Bruns
 


Juanita Carter Bruns, 76, Fenton, MO., passed away August 5, 2009, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Center in Fenton, MO., following a long illness.

Juanita was born May 28, 1933, at Delaplaine. She lived most of her life in the St. Louis area.

Juanita graduated from the Jewish School of Nursing in 1955 and worked several years for Deaconess and Jewish Hospitals in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester G. Bruns, her parents and one brother.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Mark and Joanna Bruns, and Michael and Diane Bruns; and five grandchildren; brothers, James, Gary, Larry, Jeffrey and Fred Carter; sisters, Barbara Carter Sullivan and Sue Carter Rickey; several nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Trinity Presbyterian Church at University City, Mo.

Melvin Eugene Emmert

 

Melvin Eugene Emmert, 83, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Emmert was born January 23, 1926, in Paragould, and retired from General Motors. He was a member of the Paragould Pilot Association and of the New Haven Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Emmert of the home; and one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Daniel Turner of The Woodlands, Texas.

Mr. Emmert was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Erma Emmert.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9th, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Ron Pickney officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Edward Francis Long
 

Edward Francis Long, 87, of Paragould passed away August 8, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center at Jonesboro.

He was born October 14, 1921, in Chicago to John and Mary Long, who preceded him in death.

Edward was of the Catholic faith. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife Shelby Jean Hearn Long; one son, Edward J. Long of Wheaton, Ill.; two daughters, Anita Luckenbill of Gilbert, AZ., and Janet Long of Barrington, IL., four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.until11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11th at Phillips Funeral Home.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.

Betty Emma McEntyre



Betty Emma McEntyre, 78, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Born May 24, 1931 in Paragould, she was a retired cook for Holdman’s Restaurant and a member of the Assembly of God.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmie McEntyre of Paragould, and Jessie McEntyre of Lobelville, TN., two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ralph Puckett, and Linda and Edward Shreeves, all of Paragould.
Seven grandchildren, Angie Weese and husband Jonathan, Kerry Miller and husband Jason, Cindy Johnson, Tabetha Johnson, Natalie Stone and husband Charlie, Blake McEntyre, and Brandon McEntyre; six great grandchildren, Tyler Weese, Mollie Weese, Braxton McGhee, Riley Stone, and Haydance Waldrip.

Mrs. McEntyre was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Gertrude Lashley; her husband, Jesse McEntyre; two brothers, Harold and Joe Lashley; and daughter-in-law, Brenda McEntyre.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11th, 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Waid C. “Dub” Lawrence, 70, of Marmaduke, who passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, will be Tuesday, 3,00 p.m. August 11th at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Kim Bridges officiating.

Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Eli and Thomas Henrietta Newton Lawrence; two sons, Allen Waid Lawrence and Jackie Lawrence; and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Gracie Lawrence of the home; daughters, Rhonda Hyde and Elizabeth and Michael Edwards, all of Paragould; brother, Robert Lawrence; seven sisters, Edna Spencer of Manila, Ethel Edwards of Monette, Mary Ann Henry of Manila, Joyce Barber of Leachville, Betty Brust and Patsy McGrew of Oregon and Ruth Harold of Manila; five grandchildren, Eric Scott Lawrence, Zachary Lawrence, Marisa Hyde, Michael Edwards and Nakota Edwards; and two great-grandchildren, Scott Alan Lawrence and Addision Lanae Lawrence.

Billy Joe Dildine Jr., 44, passed Saturday, August 8, 2009.

He was born in Michigan to the late Billy Joe and Nora Christine Dildine Sr. He was a loving companion, father and popie and will be always remembered and missed.

Survivors, his children, Maholla Fuller, Kaythyn Dildine, Anglea Costner, Scottie Costner, Charles, Emmitt, Bruce, Brad Pullins; grandchildren, Hailey, Lillian, Shawanda, Blaze, Brad, Erin and twenty other grandchildren that live in Michigan; a brother, Jody Dildine of Paragould; fiancée, Wanda Closson.

Glenn Earl Brown

 


Glenn Earl Brown, 74 of Paragould passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Glenn was born February 26, 1935, in Greene County and was a retired bottler at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Paragould retiring after 49 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Adams Brown, three half-brothers, Clarence, James and Robert Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Brown of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Roger Specking of Paragould; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Teresa Brown, Mike and Sandy Brown and Dennis and Debbie Brown, all of Paragould; brothers and sister-in-law, Garry Brown of Paragould, Jerry and Nancy Brown of Jonesboro; five grandsons and two granddaughters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 12th 2:00 p.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel with the Reverends Rayburn Formon and Tom Letchworth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mary Della Robinson
 


Mary Della Robinson, 64, of Paragould, formerly of Leachville, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born near Manila, she was the daughter of the late William Floyd and Ellen Izona McCloud Sorrells, and had been a longtime Leachville area resident before making her home in Paragould.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle Wayne Sorrells, Russell Sorrells and Walter Lee Sorrells; and two sisters, Linda Mae Finley and Jo Vernell Sorrells.

Survivors include her four sons, L. Dewayne Newton and Tony Joe Newton, both of Leachville, Darren Oneal Newton of Hayti, Mo., and James Wesley Newton of Manila; three daughters, Tammy Jean Hogan of Paragould, Lona Ellen Morris of Manila and Leisa Ann Nettles of Monette; two brothers, Robert Sorrells of Blytheville and Johnny Sorrells of Manila; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 14th at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with burial following in Manila Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Harvey, David Howard, Robert Weatherly, Sklyer Morris, “T.J.” Newton and Donald Eric Hogan.

The family will receive visitors Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Weldon England
 


Weldon England, 94, of Paragould passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009.

Born January 13, 1915, in Many Islands, Mr. England retired as a senior chief petty officer after 30 years of service in the United States Navy. During World War II he served aboard the carrier USS Saratoga.

Survivors include his wife, Norma England of Paragould; a brother, Windol England of Indianapolis; and a sister, Deleta Collins of Poughkeepsie.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15th at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould. Mr. England’s ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date.

No visitation is scheduled.

Glen Fredrick Evans
 


Glen Fredrick Evans, 85 of Paragould passed from this life Monday, August 10, 2009. He was born June 16, 1924, in St. Francis, AR. He was retired from the Arkansas Employment Security Division after 21 years of service. He had previously served as Deputy Greene County Clerk for two years, was elected Greene County Clerk from 1961-1964.
His military service was in the Navy, which included time during WWII. He had been very involved in civic activities, included many years of service with the Kiwanis Club where he served as President in 1964. He was a member of the Paragould Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Mary Shumate Evans and two sisters, Marie Bateman and Reva Beeler.
Survivors include his wife Earlene Stallcup Evans of the home; son, Charles Evans of Paragould; daughter, Teresa Edwards of Judsonia, AR; brother, Paul Evans of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Rena Snow of Rector, Francis Rogers and Ruby Boyd of Paragould, grandchildren, Josh, Tim and Jeremy Edwards, Melissa Greer, favorite granddaughter, James and Tommy Brashears and eight great grandchildren.
Glen deeply loved his friends and family and had a great love for the families of Paragould Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13th in the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverends Brian Johnson and Eddie Gene Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Diane Evelyn Francis
 


Diane Francis, 55 of Marmaduke passed from this life August 10, 2009 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Diane was born September 24, 1953 at Artesia, CA., the family relocated to Bakersfield when she was four years old.
She enjoyed living in the country and swimming at Lakeside High School. She attended Lakeside from kindergarten until the eighth grade and graduated from West High School and Bakersville College.
Diane went to work for Kern County Welfare Department in 1974. She was the county's youngest Account Clerk III, before she transferred to the Kern County Park's Department in January 1978.
She was their first full time female ranger. In five years she became sergeant. Diane retired in 2005 when she was diagnosed with appendix cancer. She was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Diane married the love of her life, Joe Francis in December 1993. Together they raised their family, ran their business, JD services and built their home.

Diane is survived by her husband, Joe of the home, her daughters, Crystal Banducci Sonny, Katie Banducci and Lyndsay Coker and husband, Tim, two sons, Justin Francis and Bryan and Rebecca Costerain, grandsons, Kaden and Kaleb Coker, her parents, Orville and Wanda Idema of Bakersville, her sisters, Marie and Larry Estrada and Annette and Kirk Given and nephew, Richard Estrada.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Idema.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke. Brother David White will be officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Lucille Lemmons

 

Lucille Lemmons, 94, of Paragould, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.
Born February 23, 1915, in Beech Grove, Mrs. Lemmons was a retired school teacher, and a member of 7th & Mueller Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Joe Rogers of Memphis; three sisters, Lenore Chapel of MI., Boots Baird of IL., and JoAnn King of IA., one grandson, Geoffrey Cooley of Memphis; and two great grandchildren, Morgan Cooley and Nicholas Cooley

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lemmons, her parents, Elgin and Nellie Meadows; and one brother, Guy Meadows.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 12th, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Larry McFadden and Michael Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

Wanda Faye Moore, 77, of Kansas City, MO passed away August 10, 2009 at home surrounded by family.
Wanda Faye Hester was born November 12, 1931 in the Alexander Community near Paragould, AR. She graduated from Paragould High School and completed a course at Jonesboro Business College.
During her life Wanda worked for the Jonesboro (AR) Soil Conservation Service, played and taught piano and played the organ in many different churches. She was an Avon Representative for many years, worked for Ozark National Life Insurance and Investments but her main goal in life was a homemaker for her husband and children. Wanda was a member of Metro Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO.

Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years Joe F. Moore, her father Halley Hester and a grandson Jeremy Franklin Moore.

She is survived by her mother, Aletha Hester of Gladstone, MO, sister Shirley (Gene) Ballentine of Gladstone, MO, her three children, Alice (Ron) Tilton, Pat (Ron) Turner, Donald (Khanh) Moore, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16th, 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow service in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery.

Larry Douglas Gibson, 67, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at his home. He was born July 7, 1942 in Newark, AR.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Gibson, brother, Lindsey Gibson and step brother, R.C. Gibson.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Gibson of the home; mother, Lucille Gibson; sons, Larry Don Gibson, Douglas Wayne Gibson, both of Jonesboro; step daughter, Bonnie Ray of Paragould; step son, Don Sanders of Collierville, TN., sisters, Mary Lou Clark of Floral, Sally Logan of Jonesboro, Dorothy Gibson of Batesville; brothers, Ray and Phillip Gibson, both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Austin, Brittney and Aaron Gibson; and great grandchild, Peyton McKenzie Gibson.

His life will be celebrated Thursday, August 13th 1:30 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel, with Reverend Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Stacy Lynn Camp
 


Stacy Lynn Camp, 38, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in Jonesboro. She was born June 17, 1971, in Jonesboro, AR.
Stacy was a 1989 graduate of Greene County Tech, where despite her diagnosis of juvenile diabetes, she ran four years of track and was involved in numerous school activities. She graduated in 1998 from Arkansas State University with a degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and was employed at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Stacy grew up as an active member of First Baptist Church in Paragould, where she was involved in GAs, ACteens, and youth choir. She continued her walk in faith, as an adult, at Light Baptist Church.

While Stacy lived with the struggles of a diagnosis of juvenile diabetes, she certainly lived life to the fullest. She approached every challenge and opportunity with enthusiasm, including running a half-marathon at the age of 36 while wearing an insulin pump. She was very passionate about causes close to her heart, including: March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen Organization, and diabetes education. She had a strong love for animals and children, and doted on her four nephews, niece, and her Godson as if they were her own.

Survivors include her husband, Britt Camp of the home; her mother and stepfather, Roberta and Gene Parkinson of Harlingen, TX.; stepbrother, Tommy Parkinson; mother-in-law Linda Farley and her husband, John; father-in-law, Gary Camp; brother-in-law Jason and Eva Camp; and sister-in-law, Millie and Eddie Leach, all of Paragould.

She is also survived by her aunts, Jean Crossno, Cathy Miles, Shirley Douglas and Linda Holliman; uncles, Glen Horne and Richard Horne; nephews, Garret Latham, Gunnar Latham, Jace Camp, and Jaxon Camp; niece, Ava Camp; cousins, Kim and Jeff Hollister, Kevin and Whitney Crossno; her Godson, Jacob Jones; and her cats, Muffy and Tuffy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Horne; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Lorene McDaniel; and her paternal grandparents, Otho and Alvine Horne.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 5:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 16th, 2:00 p.m., at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Raymond Atwood and Clark Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Sharon Gena Banning, 58, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009.
Born July 14, 1951, in Paragould, she was a taxi driver and of the Pentecostal faith

Survivors include two sons, Steve Wiktorek of Joplin, MO., and Bennie Lee Clements of Paragould; three brothers, Ellis Walker of CA., Danny Walker and Dofford Walker, Jr. both of OK.
She is also survived by five sisters, Sandra Rodriguez, Peggy Hunt, Melinda Dillon, Karen Robertson, all of Paragould, and Tottie Walker of OR., her aunt, Peggy Hill of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dofford Walker, mother, Ava Lee Walker Davis; and two brothers, Sammie Joe Walker and Eddie Wesley Walker.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 19th, 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with Wilburn Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

Jerry Wayne Brooks, 56, of Marmaduke, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Jerry was a general contractor, an Army Veteran, and of Baptist faith. He was born January 24, 1953 in Fowler, CA. the son of Minnie Marie Richardson Brooks and the late Gilford Arnold Brooks. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Albert and Kenneth Brooks.

Survivors include his wife: Mary McClure Brooks; daughters: Saramarie, Eishah; mother, Minnie Brooks, all of the home; brothers: Larry Lane Brooks of Jonesboro, Garnet Ray Brooks of Memphis; brothers and sisters-in-law: Delphia Brooks, Ann Miller, Lisa Hunt, Teresa Morgan, Sarah McClure, Bill Blasko, Kevin McClure, John McClure and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Freddie Don Pogue, 50, of Paragould passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2009.

Mr. Pogue was born July 6, 1959, in Blytheville to Donald and Freda Pogue.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Freda Pogue of Paragould; one daughter, Ashley Kemp and husband Justin of Paragould; two sons, William Pogue and Benjamin Pogue, both of Brunswick, GA., and one brother, Ed Pogue and wife Julia of Lindsborg, KS.

Tonna Jean Miller

 

Tonna Jean Miller, 68, of Paragould, passed away peacefully at home August 14, 2009.
Born October 27,1940 in Supply, AR. to the late John and Mildred Caldwell, Tonna was a nurse in the St Louis area until her retirement in 1998. She lived in Tarpon Springs, FL. and Corning, AR. before moving to Paragould.

Tonna was truly one of a kind, as all that knew her will attest. Anyone who met her was immediately struck by her beauty, honesty and love of laughter. She was brimming with life and especially loved children, who in turn adored her.

Survivors include, her son Dennis(Kathy) Williams and her new grandson Wyatt, all of St Louis., one brother Jim(Barbara) Caldwell of Corning, AR. three sisters Sharon Lopez of Phoenix, AZ., Barbara Peters of Nobleton, FL. and Kathy King of Mesquite, TX. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to numerous to mention, but whom she greatly loved.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Crowell, and her beloved Grandmother, the incomparable Uhl McDowell.

A visitation followed by a short benediction will be held Saturday, August 22, 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home, 321 W. Garland St, Paragould AR.

Betty Loreen Bagwell, 81, of Aurora, MO., formerly of Paragould, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the Aurora Nursing Center.
Mrs. Bagwell, a homemaker, was born December 15, 1927, in Marmaduke. She was a member of West View Baptist Church, Paragould.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Joyce Cunningham of Mt. Vernon, MO., Eddie and Tammy Cunningham of Paragould; and one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and James Talley of Mannford, OK. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Samantha Rose; her husband, Cazie Bagwell; one son, Gary Don Cunningham; and by twin brothers, Everett and Jessie Rose.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at the Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Leo Wayne Jackson, 82, of Paragould, passed away Sunday August 16, 2009, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born January 27, 1927 in Greene County, AR., the son of the late John and Viola Jackson. Leo was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Jackson, brother, Wilburn Jackson, grandson, Jeremy Gibson and granddaughter, Tracy Gibson.
He was a farmer, member of New Liberty Baptist Church and a World War II Army Veteran.

Hulen Faulkner
 


Mr. Hulen Faulkner, 89 of Memphis, formerly of Manila, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Kirby Pines Estates in Memphis. Born at Beach Grove, he was the son of the late E.W. and Alice Batey Faulkner and had lived most of his life in Manila. He was a graduate of Arbyrd High School and the Draughon's Business College in Memphis.

At age 19 Mr. Faulkner became manager of the Bertig Cotton Gin and later managed Caudill Brother's and Fleeman gin companies. He retired as vice president of the former Merchant's and Planter's Bank in Manila. He was active in scouting, having served as Scout Master for Explorer Scouts.
Hulen served under General George Patton's 3rd Army, 11th Armored Division during WWII, he received campaign medals for action in the Battle of the Bulge, The Rhineland and Central Europe. His major duties were with the reconnaissance patrol unit. He was a 32nd Degree Mason having served as Master of the Manila Masonic Lodge for many years. He was a member and Deacon of Manila First Baptist Church and served as a men's Sunday school teacher, church treasurer and trustee. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his grandchildren , fishing, gardening, National Geographic and travel.

His family would like to express their appreciation for Mary Martin of Kirby Pines for her caring concern.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Norris Faulkner, sons, Norris George Faulkner, Uriah, AL., William Edward Faulkner, Dallas, TX., five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Eliza Lee Etta Parker, 93, of Rochester Hills, MI., formerly of Lake City and Tuckerman, passed away August 16, 2009, at Rochester Hills.

Eliza was born August 11, 1916, at Batesville, AR., she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Parker; parents, Henry and Edna DeFreece Holt; six brothers; and three sisters.

Heather Nicole Dickinson, 22, of Marmaduke, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009. Heather was born January 7, 1987, she was a 2005 graduate of Marmaduke High School and member of the Marmaduke Church Of Christ. Heather had a servant's heart and was an organ and tissue donor. She loved kids, computers, jeep and four wheeler riding and country music concerts.

She is survived by her parents, Patrick Dickinson, Denise and Keith Wooldridge, all of Marmaduke; brothers, Kerry and Brian Wooldridge of Paragould; grandparents, Sandy and Sharon Dickinson, Ed and Wilda Johnson, all of Marmaduke, Winston and Shirley Wooldridge of Paragould; aunts and uncles, Maria and Mike Vowell, Michael Dickinson, Dennis and Debbie Johnson, Tammie and Mark Jordan, Beverly and Allen Carroll, Dean and Beverly Wooldridge, Tim and Lisa Wooldridge, Allen and Michelle Wooldridge, Terry Taylor, Donna Justus, Nita Reed and several cousins including Kalee Reed and Brent Justus.
Her grandparents, Mary Johnson, Patsy Greenway, Donnie "Red" Greenway and uncle, Mario Pankey preceded her in death.

Bonnie Phillips, 75, of Poplar Bluff, MO., passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009.

Wanda Lewis
 


Wanda Pierce Lewis, 83 of Sikeston, MO., passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born September 22, 1925 at Paragould, AR., to the late Harm and Hester Bales Maag.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, where she was also a nursery worker. She had been a foster grandparent, and had worked as a seamstress in the alteration department at J.C. Penney and Falkoffs Men’s Store. During World War II, she worked in Memphis, TN., in a factory, building lifeboats.
She was married to Paul Pierce October 25, 1945 in Paragould, AR. He preceded her in death September 4, 1969. She married Alton Lewis in 1971, he also preceded her in death.

Survivors include, son, Joey Paul Pierce of Sikeston, by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauletta and Danny Meeks of Sikeston, Carolyn Sue and Dean McDougal of Arbyrd, MO., one brother, Gale Maag of Paragould, AR., two sisters, Mona Yates of Sikeston and Minnie Tarvin of Paragould, AR., six grandchildren, Allen Meeks, Shelley Cox, Scott McDougal, Jeff McDougal, Joey Paul Pierce II and Jessica Winkler; and by six great grandchildren, Ian Meeks, Caroline Meeks, Sam Cox, Charlie Cox, Emma McDougal and Annie McDougal. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Junior was married to Vearl Smith December 2, 1955, in Marmaduke. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Dena Hendrix; two brothers, Bufford Hendrix and L. D. Hendrix, two sisters, Donie Hahn and Vernie Wilcox.

He is survived by his wife, Vearl of the home, daughter, Debbie Carter of Lafe, daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Mickey Hampton of Marmaduke, five grandchildren, Tim Carter, Michael Carter, and Jessica Carter, all of Lafe, Micka Hampton and Kalinda Hampton, both of Marmaduke.
He is also survived by a special niece, Trish Olex; special nephew, Rick Hendrix of Lafe, a special sitter, Misty Churchwell, and by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at the Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Services will be held Sunday, August 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Williams, Jim Vernon, Jamie Price, Jared Clayton, Wes “Kojak” Johnson, Levi Hendrix, Brian Carr, and Rodney Newman.

Dewey Wayne Boyd, 49, of Rector, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
Born October 22, 1959, in Paragould, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his father, Dewey Vernon Boyd of Paragould; one son, Timothy Wayne Boyd of Edinburg, Texas; two sisters, Janet Howe of Marmaduke, Donna Roach of Paragould; and one grandson, Timothy Shawn Oden Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Neba Boyd.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 23rd, 4:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Royce Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Reddick Cemetery.

Randall Gene Dowler

 

Randall Gene Dowler, 65, of Lafe, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould.
Born December 4, 1943, in Halliday, he was an Army veteran and a member of Warren’s Chapel Methodist Church. After his retirement from Delta Cotton Co-op, he continued working there part time.

Mr. Dowler was a former chief of the Lafe Fire Department, and former member of the Lafe School Board. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kay Dowler of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Jane Dowler of Lafe; and one daughter and son-in-law, Krista and Chad Agee of Marmaduke. He is also survived by two brothers, Gordan Dowler of Paragould, Gaylon Dowler of South Branch, Michigan; two sisters, Dorothy Barber of Flint, Michigan, Toni Holcomb of Monticello; five grandchildren, Whitney Dowler, Derek Agee, Andy Agee, Jennifer Patterson and Chris Patterson; and three great grandchildren, Conner Walters, Dawson Walters, and Reece Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Gertie Dowler; three brothers, Tommy Dowler, Don Hooker and Roy Junior Hooker; and by one sister, Eva Lee Cole.

Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 until 9:00 at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22nd, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

John Edwin Dortch, 62 of Bloomsdale, MO., passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 as a result of an accident. John was born February 10, 1947, he was a Viet Nam Veteran having served two tours of duty.

John was preceded in death by his father, George Powell Dortch.

R. V. “Buster “ Taylor, 72, of Paragould passed away August 22, 2009 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1936 at Stanford to Pearl and W.C. Taylor Sr. He was a farmer and a member of Commissary Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents and four sisters, Reba Smith, Monzell Clifton, Ruth Wooldridge and Inez Denman.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Rita Taylor; one son, Richard Taylor; a daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Jim Rogers; one granddaughter Stephanie West and her husband Chris; one great-grandson, Levi West; a brother W.C. “Dub” Taylor, Jr. all of Paragould and one sister, Pauline Dearing of St. Louis.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 25th, 11:00 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Darrell Austin and Phil Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Elva Jewel Hays

 

Elva Grooms Hays, 90, of Atoka, TN., passed away August 22, 2009 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She was born April 1, 1919 in Greene County, AR., the daughter of the late William Monroe and Minnie Russom Grooms. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Charlie Hays, two brothers and four sisters. Elva was a retired supervisor of Ely Walker Shirt Factory and a member of Beech Grove Nazarine Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Garlon M. and Charlotte Hays of Atoka, TN.; granddaughter, Sheila Hays (Joel) Bramlitt of Collierville, TN; grandson, Bradley G. (Lisa) Hays of Bartlett, TN.; four great grandchildren, Megan Wylie of Oakland, TN., Zach Hays of Bartlett, TN., and Kristen and Kasey Bramlitt of Collierville, TN., great grandson: Hays Wylie; brothers, Elmer Grooms of Paragould and Hulan Grooms of Conway, AR.; sisters, Edith Frier of Paragould, and Evelyn Davis of St. Louis, MO.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, August 26th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel where her life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marion Gramling officiating.

Gladys G. Douglas Perry, 92, of Bentonville, AR., formerly of Brookland and Paragould, passed away August 22, 2009. She was born July 3, 1917 in Delaplaine, AR., the daughter of the late Arlie and Myrtle McCullar Smith. She is of Assembly of God faith.

Gladys is also preceded in death by her first husband, William Douglas; her second husband, Frank Perry; one son, William R. "Billy" Douglas; brothers, Clarence Smith; sister, Beatrice Richie; step brothers, Esco Huffine, Virgil Huffine, A.D. Huffine, step sister, Venita Mothershed.

Survivors include her daughter, Reba Williams of Bend, OR., step sons, Larry , Roy , and Rick Perry; step daughter Barbara Thurney; sister, Texie Atkinson of Flint, MI., five grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Reverend William Lehman White, age 75, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009 at his home in Paragould.
He was born October 8, 1933 in Randolph County to Woodrow and Thelma White.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Bill and Annie White, Earl and Ludy Modlin; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Dennis; daughter-in-law, Robin; and two granddaughters, Skye and Lexi who were the joy of his life. He is also survived by one sister, Lenora Holland of Jonesboro; and one brother, Bill White of Springfield, Missouri.
He had served as pastor of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church, Finch Baptist Church and Unity Baptist Church. He was a plumber, a contractor, a woodcrafter, and a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 27th, 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

Mary Jane Riley, 83, of Paragould, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.
Born March 14, 1926, in Peach Orchard, Mrs. Riley was a homemaker, and a member of the Light Church of Christ.

Opal Irene Bruce departed this life Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at her home. She was born April 9, 1924, the daughter of Bill and Louise Palmer of Peach Orchard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty years, Melvin Bruce; a daughter, Myra West of Paragould, as well as three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a sister, Nadene "Aunt Dean" Dowdy of Fairmont, Illinois, two sons and daughter-in-law, Alan and Brenda Bruce of Hooker, Arkansas and Randy Bruce of Grady, Arkansas, as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and friends.

Opal was a retiree from Monroe Automotive Equipment and a member of the Delaplaine Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 28th, 1:00 p.m. at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Adam Bruton officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Lannie Ray Huffman

 

Lannie Ray Huffman, age 56, was born July 25, 1953, in Punkin Center, AR. He passed away peacefully August 26, 2009, at his home.
Lannie was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Carlton and Flossie Lena Huffman, two brothers, James Floyd Huffman and Ralph Wayne Huffman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Huffman of the home; five children, daughter Kristie Johnson and husband, Scott of Benton, Tennessee, daughter Robin Davis and husband, Robert of Paragould, daughter Cindy Hudman and husband, David of Evening Star, son Tim Wilcox and wife, Mandy of Paragould, and daughter Holly Huffman of Paragould. Lannie was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and five precious great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Vernal Huffman, Jean Mitchell, Darrell Huffman, Bert Condray, Jerry Huffman, many other brother and sisters-in-law, as well as his mother-in-law, Glenda Pillow.

Lannie Ray Huffman grew up around Light, AR., attending Stanford School. He was an active member at Beech Grove Baptist Church and had a strong love for God and family. Lannie Ray Huffman was also a disabled veteran.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but is now rejoicing in his heavenly home with his Lord Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29th, 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Newberry and Dale Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Pine Knot Cemetery.

Harlan Lloyd Schwamb, age 90, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1918 in Greene County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Ruth Schwamb; brothers, Karl and Russell; and sisters, Marietta McFall and Doris Williams.

Mr. Schwamb was a World War II veteran, serving with the U. S. Army Military Police, and former employee of Goodyear Tire and Stimpson Auto Parts. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where he taught a Sunday school class and was choir director for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Joel Barker of Denver, Colorado; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda Schwamb of Paragould; one grandson, Tim Schwamb and his wife, Cristi of Vienna, Virginia; one granddaughter, Abigail Barker of Denver; and three great grandchildren, Addison, Brennan, and Lauren Schwamb of Vienna.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Brother Larry Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Debbie Stormes, 54 of Paragould went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 27, 2009 at her home with her family present. Debbie was born September 23, 1954, in St. Louis, MO., to Charles and Clara Stevens. Debbie was a strong Christian and her favorite subject was her Children's Church group at church, where she taught and assisted for several years.
She was preceded in death by one son, Craig Stormes. Survivors include her husband, Ed Stormes of the home; daughter, Crystal Stormes of Jonesboro; parents, Charles Woodrow and Clara Stevens of Paragould; sister, Vera Bounds of Paragould; brother Charles Stevens of Paragould.

Francis "Frank" Joseph Fields, 78 of Paragould passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould.
Frank was born January 18, 1931, he was retired from the U.S. Army having served in Korea. He was also a retired truck driver. Frank was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira R. and Lucille Haag Fields and brother, Charles Fields.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Fields of the home; daughters, Debbie Shelton of Paragould and Katie Talton of Jonesboro, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Charles Richard “Rick” Holder, 63, of Paragould, formerly of Walnut Ridge, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, Jonesboro.

Having retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of 7th and Mueller Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Betty Lou Hibbard Holder.

Survivors include his wife, Janis Redwine Holder of Paragould; daughter, Kerie Martin (Jeramy); sons, John Holder (Misty) and Alan Holder, all of Jonesboro; brother, Bennett Holder (Jodie) of Paragould; and one grandchild, Devin Holder.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 1st, 1:00 p.m. at the 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould with Doug Welborn officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 until 8:00 at the church.

Johnny Mack Farmer
 


Johnny Mack Farmer, 63 of Marmaduke passed away August 30, 2009 at NHC HealthCare in Kennett.
Johnny was born June 30, 1946 in New Madrid Co., to the late Willie and Ruth (Seets) Farmer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy, Frank and Richard Farmer.

He is survived by his special friend Nora Farmer of Marmaduke, two daughters, Tonya Alsup of Rector and Janet Farmer of Mulberry, AR., three step-children: Chris, Heather and Robbie, two brothers: Charles Farmer and Donald Farmer of Marmaduke and two sisters: Mildred Geddings of Bloomington, IL., and Margie Parton of Kennett, three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke with Johnny Bogle officiating.

Doyne Maurice Webb

 

Doyne Maurice Webb, 82, of Rector passed away August 30, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Paragould.

Doyne was born June 7, 1927, in Clay County to the late Daniel and Grace (Parham) Webb.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Doyne was not only an embalmer/funeral director, but in earlier days an ambulance driver for Irby Funeral Home and he was an insurance salesman for Mutual of Omaha for many years. In his later years, he was a devoted employee of Glen Sain GMC sales. He also was a member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Bryce and Joe Webb.

Doyne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dortha Webb, a son and his wife, David Neil and Tracy Webb of Cherokee Village, AR., one brother, Kenneth and Alma Webb of Cape Girardeau, MO., and Louise McCord of St. Louis.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Rector, with Brother Ardell Polk officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 5:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.

Iva Palmer, 90, of Paragould, passed away Monday August 31, 2009 in Rector. She was born April 18, 1919 in Peach Orchard the daughter of the late Willie and Amy Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ewell Palmer, her son, and two brothers. She was of Baptist Belief.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews.
