Virgil Leon 'Peck" Culver

Virgil Leon 'Peck" Culver, 67, of Pollard died Wednesday, Jan 19, 2000, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Dec 3, 1932, in Pollard. He was a farm worker and a General Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliot and Etta Culver. Survivors include his wife, Lessie Culver of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rick and Vicki Culver and David Culver, all of Pollard; six grandchildren, Richie Culver, Cody Culver, Michael Culver, Matt Culver, Melissa Johnson, and Richard Johnson; a sister and a brother-in-law, Anna Belle and Charles Hunt of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two nieces and their husbands, Elizabeth and John Fullinger, and Nancy and Larry Baurr, all of Ann Arbor; two step-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trailors Chapel General Baptist Church with David Clayton and Loy Culver officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 Friday night at Piggott Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Bob Hillyer, Elton Moffitt, Mark Benson, Rober Baxter, Nick Short and Jerome Meade.

Forrest Waters

Forrest Waters, 90, of Fairfield Bay died Monday, Jan 17, 2000, at Fairfield Bay.

He was born Oct 21, 1909, in Matthews, MO. A retired farmer, he was a member of Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olah Mae Devoll Waters; his parents, Jasper and Laura Tucker Waters; three brothers, Tommy Waters, Owen Waters and Elbert Waters; and two sisters, Ilene Adams and Iva Gibson.

Survivors include two sons, Jonn Dale Waters of Mocksville, N.C., and Sherman Waters of Fairfield Bay; a daughter, Linda Maynard of Irontown, MO., and two sisters, June Poindexter and Mary Ellen Yarbrough, both of Paragould; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Everette Isom officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paragould.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorials be made to Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Wymon Highfill, Floyd Matthews, Frank Wicker, Kenneth Ritsmon, Albert Rudi, Eugene Widmer.

 

  Harry E. Morgan  

Obituary, Paragould Daily Press, Tuesday, January 25, 2000

Harry E. Morgan, 87, of Paragould died Sunday, Jan: 23, 2000, at Paragould Nursing Center .  
He was born July 7, 1912 , in Paragould . He was retired from Burns Trucking in Yuba City , Calif.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Lillie Mae Morgan; an infant daughter, Shirley; his first wife, Lottie; his second wife, Opal; and a brother, Hermon Morgan.  

Survivors include two sons, Glen Morgan and Wendell Mor­gan, both of Marysville , Calif. ; three daughters, Charlene Sea­chord of Plano , Texas , Virginia Dalton of Oregon and Mary Sell­ars of California ; two brothers, Kenneth Morgan of Paragould and C. W. Morgan of Yuba City ; a sister, Hazel Greathouse of Paragould ; 10 grandchildren; and several greatgrandchildren.  

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bud Branch, Kenneth Hamilton, LX Mitchell, Jimmy Grooms, Phillip Morgan and Chris Faulkner.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Morris Bryant


Morris Bryant, 74, of Paragould died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Larry Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Warren's Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
 


Claudie Cleo Walker


Claudie Cleo Walker, 66, of Gainesville died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his residence.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Billy Joe Dowdy officiating.

Ira Edward Gage


Ira Edward Gage, 87, of Paragould died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial will be at Pine Knot Cemetery in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
