Reba J. Boyd



Reba J. Boyd, 84, of Paragould died May 5, 2001 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born March 10, 1917 in Beech Grove, she was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Olen Boyd, one son; Joe Boyd, and two sisters; Ouida Williams and Rada Owens.

Survivors include; two sons; Gerald Boyd of Paragould, Bland Boyd of Paragould, one daughter; Peggy Boyd of Paragould, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 7, 2001 at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Gould officiating. Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were; Will Hicks, Billy Lovelady, Galen Williams, Buddy Smith, Sam Williams, Kelly Maag.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the Beech Grove United Methodist Church, 5381 Hwy. 34 West, Paragould, Ar. 72450.

Elizabeth Bratcher

 

Elizabeth Bratcher, 71, of Marmaduke died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born January 13, 1930, in Greene County, the daughter of the late Frank and Rebecca Hyde Cupp. She married Raymond Bratcher in 1950.

She was a homemaker, a board member of the Marmaduke Housing Authority, and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; one brother, Darrell Cupp; and three sisters, Ruby Robinson, Virgelene Potter and Lois Dillon.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Bratcher of Washington state and Kevin Bratcher of Chesterfield, Mo., and three sisters, Jean Walker of Cardwell, Mo., Frances Butler of Marthasville, Mo., and Frankie Marlow of Silva, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, in Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Herbert Starr and James Brown officiating.

Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway with Irby Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Barry Robinson, Charles Hampton, Rodney Hampton, Randy Estes, Keith Marlow and Terry Marlow.

Bernice A. Clark

 

Bernice A. Clark, 82, of Marmaduke, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born September 6, 1918, to the late Hallie and Laura Josephine Watton Crouch. She married Clines Ben Clark March 30, 1940 in Monette.

She was a lifetime resident in Marmaduke and taught school there for 34 years. She was a member of the Marmaduke Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Clovis Crouch and Bus Crouch.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Fred and Rinda Clark of Toney, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Dr. Fred Koch of Alliance, Neb., and Jane and Joe Zollner of Marmaduke; seven grandchildren, Patrick Zollner, Sarah Zollner, Miriam Core, Henry Koch, Kim Waters, Sheri Clark and Delia Bracken; and four great-grandchildren, Hallie Zollner, Kelsey Zollner, Elizabeth Zollner and Alex Vaughan.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 13, in Harvey's Chapel Methodist Church in Marmaduke with Willyne Thompson and Kim Bridges officiating.

Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Cecily Dawn Fortenberry


Cecily Dawn Fortenberry, age 5 years and 8 months, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in an automobile accident near Rector.
She was born September 15, 1995, in Paragould. She was a kindergarten student at Marmaduke Elementary School.

Survivors include her parents, Donald Fortenberry and Theresa Louise St. Clair Fortenberry, both of Rector; a half-sister, Megan Lynn Fortenberry of Pyatt; maternal grandparents, Billy and Mary Emerline of Rector; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Mary Fortenberry of Paragould, and an aunt, Jacinda Welch of Rector.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Antioch Baptist Church in Rector with Bro. Kim Bridges and Bro. Larry Jolly officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery north of Rector with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Mark Rusher, Jim Greuel, Brian Rusher, Allen Dortch, Bruce McLeod, Trent Bates and David West.

Jerry Haynes

 

Jerry Haynes, 60, of Paragould, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Born July 22, 1940, he was a retired security guard.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Haynes of Paragould; two sons, Kim Dickens and Kevin Dickens of Paragould; four daughters, including Lynda Cook of Dallas, Tonya and Tommie; six grandchildren, Misty, Timmy, William, Mark, Scott and Raelynn, and two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Drianna.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Kenny Crafton officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Loma C. Hawk
 


Loma C. Hawk, 75, of Rector died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born March 6, 1926, in Independence County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Birdle and Simon George; one son, Christopher Hawk, and several brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Max Hawk, of the home; two sons, Michael Byrd and Timothy Hawk, both of St. Louis; three daughters, Paulette Beers of Bridgeton, Mo., Shellin Barnett of Bridgeton, Mo., and Kathy Coggins of Park Hills, Mo.; three sisters, Bea Patterson of Newport, Pat Roberts of Newport and Linda Carter of Magnolia, 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Private services were held with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eutice Pruett Bullock

 

Eutice Pruett Bullock, 84, of Rector, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Born May 23, 1916, she retired from the Brown Shoe Factory in Paragould and was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Bullock.

She is survived by one daughter, Roma Nell Sanders of Rector; two grandchildren, Joe Lynn Sanders of Rector and Gwyn and Dennis Graves of St. Louis, and two great-grandchildren, Summer Sanders and Dustin Graves.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Mitchell Chapel in Rector with Bro. Paul Vincent officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Joey Pruett, Larry Pruett, Jimmy Pruett, Warren Matheny, Kelvin Reagan and Kim Hardin. The family asks that memorials be given to Blooming Grove Church.

Lola Belle Huggins

 


Lola Belle Huggins, 88, of St. Ann, Mo., formerly of Rector, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Depaul Health Center in St. Louis.
She was born July 12, 1912, in Rector to the late Leslie Brannon and Maud Simpson Brannon. She was a hairdresser and had lived in the community for 50 years.

She was married to Odie Len Huggins, who died in 1962. She was a member of the Westside General Baptist Church since 1957.

Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Brannon, and one sister, Zola Gatewood.

Survivors include one son, Odie Vondal Huggins of Cedar Hill, Mo.; one daughter, Juanita Stewart of Overland, Mo.; two brothers, Orville Brannon and Laverle Brannon, both of Little Rock; two sisters, Earlene McMillin of Paragould and Wanetta Smitherman of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Cynthia Anderson of Arnold, Mo., and Diana Brink of El Jebel, Colo., and three great-grandchildren, Alicia Adams and Kimberly Adams of Arnold and Justin Brink of El Jebel.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with David Floyd officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Roberta Cynthia Bennett

 

Roberta Cynthia Bennett, 81, of Beech Grove, died Saturday, May 19, 2001.
She was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Greene County to the late Charley and Bessie O. Crowley Amorine. She was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband on the farm. She was a member of Stanford Methodist Church most of her life, but recently attended Warren's Chapel Methodist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Linzy Bennett; one brother, Charles Amorine, and two sisters, Geneva Morrow and Eula Chappell.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Everett Isom and Marion Gramling officiating. Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Lucille Stewart

 

Juanita Lucille Stewart, 70, of St. Louis, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at St. John's Hospital.
Born July 12, 1930 in Rector, she was the daughter of the late Odie Len and Lola Belle Brannon Huggins.

A resident of St. Louis for 48 years, she was a housewife and a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Stewart of the home; a daughter, Diana Brink of El Jebel, Colo.; a brother, Odie Huggins of Cedar Hill, Mo.; and a grandson, Justin Brink of El Jebel.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 25 at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with James Hamlett officiating.

Burial was at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould with Irby Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie B. Mouser

 

Marjorie B. Mouser, 84, of Rector, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Born Jan. 16, 1917, in Joliet, Ill., she was the daughter of Willis and Mable McAllister Brown.

She was a secretary in the food industry and a member of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delwin Mouser, Sr.

She is survived by one son, Delwin Mouser, Jr., of Rector; one daughter, Becky Bleakley of Bullhead City, Ariz.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Henrietta Eagle Dortch

 


Henrietta Eagle Dortch, 88, of Paragould, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Born Oct. 5, 1912, in Knob, she was a homemaker and a member of the Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dortch; her parents, Robert E. and Alice Cato Eagle; four brothers, William Eagle, Virgil Eagle, Clarence Eagle and Deward Eagle; three sisters, Florence Gaylean, Audrew Wheat and Vada Phillips, and one grandchild, Jayme Gibson.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Dortch and Jerry Dortch, both of Paragould; two daughters, Jo Ann Branch and June Gibson, both of Paragould; two sisters, Garnetta

Gaylean of Piggott and Grace Cox of Rector, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 30) at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Jim Thresher and Everett Isom officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Bruce Branch, Jeff Branch, Charlie Rhodes, Derek Jennings, Jim Cox and Bill Gaylean.

Vernett Franks

 

Vernett Franks, 83, of Paragould, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.
Born March 26, 1918, in Marmaduke, she was a homemaker and a member of the Marmaduke Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marlon "Pete" Franks; one brother, Hollis Gossett; and two sisters, Francis Gossett and Marginia Franks.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Ron Vallentine and Mary Ann and Dewayne Hamelback, all of Paragould; three brothers, Galen Gossett of Desota, Mo., Bill Gossett of St. Louis, Mo., and James Harold Gossett of Jonesboro; two sisters, Willodean Doyle and Betty Thorne, both of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Robert Vallentine, Steven Hamelback and Bradley Hamelback; and five great-grandchildren, Justin Hamelback, Matthew Hamelback, Nichole Hamelback, Jacob Hamelback and Megan Hamelback.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 30) at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Rev. Robert DeBaun officiating.

Burial will be in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Family asks that memorials be made to the Marmaduke Methodist Church.

Pallbearers are Lindell Stallings, T.L. Jenkins, Allen Gossett, Perry Smith, Ricky Hamelback and Steven Hamelback.

Edna Lavonda Mason


RECTOR, ARKANSAS: Edna Lavonda Mason, 66, died May 29, 2001. She was born August 13, 1934 to the late Frank and Sadie Burns Edwards.

Survivors include a son, Joe Mason of Rector; a daughter, Joan Jeffery of Searcy; 3 grandchildren; a brother, Aubrey Edwards of Paragould; and a sister and brother-in-law, Corene and Don Dowdy of Hayti, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amyel Mason.

Interment in Liberty Hill Cemetery with arrangements by Irby Funeral Service.
