James Arlen Campbell

James Arlen CAMPBELL, 68, Walnut Ridge died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Elmer Lawrence RAINWATER, 90 of Delaplaine died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born June 28, 1907, at Denton. He was a former farmer and timber worker and in 1965, retired as a section hand from Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was of Church of Christ faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Amzier and Clara Viola Hamilton Rainwater; two sons, Larry Allen Rainwater Sr., and Keith Lee Rainwater Sr.; three sisters, Elsie Rainwater, Bertha Felkins and Bessie
Butler; and four brothers, Jesse Rainwater, Clarence Rainwater, Earl Rainwater and Dewitt Conder. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Stevens Rainwater of Delaplaine, five daughters, Charlene Johnson of Bethalto, Ill.,Linda Stark of Fenton, Mo., Karen Rainwater of Delaplaine, Shirley Dickerson of Bradford and Dianne Neill of Arkansas; three sons, Kenneth Rainwater of
O'Kean, and Reggin Rainwater and Kevin Rainwater, both of Delaplaine; a sister, Jewell Tucker of Doniphan, Mo., 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many other relatives. 

The funeral will be at 10:30 a. m. on Saturday at Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie with Robert Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paragould. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Jeffery Stark, Larry Allen Rainwater, Jr.; Adam Neill, Jason Rainwater, John Rainwater and Keith Rainwater, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Neill, Kenneth Stephen Rainwater, Joshua Rainwater
and Zachary Lawrence.

Noah William GARNER, 79, of Paragould died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Greene Acres Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 14, 1918 at Beech Grove. He was a retired Illinois forge factory worker and of Pentecostal faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Noah and Patsy Louannie King Garner. Survivors include three sons, Raleigh Noah Garner and William "Bill" Garner, both of Paragould, and Charles Sims of Lafe; two daughters, Barbara Phillips of Paragould and Ann Rogers of Lettsworth, La.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral was on Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home in
Paragould with the Rev. Charles Abernathy officiating. Burial was at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould. Pallbearers were Dennis Rogers, Kevin Gerber, Jerry Cunningham, Butch Hendrix, Al Keeling and Mike Keeling. Honorary pallbearers were J. R. Nelson and Huck Oglesby.

Mary Jane GRAY, 55, of Paragould died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and of Baptist faith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Franklin and Rosa Mae Staggs Bristol; a son, Robert W. Gray; a brother, Harvey Bristol; and a sister, Kathleen Bristol. Survivors include three sons, Michael Gray and James Gray both of Paragould, and Charles Gray of Carbondale, Kan.; two daughters, Patricia Myers and
Velina Norman, both of Paragould; four brothers, Thomas Charles Bristol of Pocahontas, James Bristol of Jacksonville, Fla., John Bristol of O'Kean, and Darold Bristol of Machesney Park, Ill; three sisters, Veda Walker of Hoxie, Lousia Holsapple of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Junita Rock of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Keith DeFries officiating.
Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Scott Wilson, Dallas Carter, Stan Robbins, Jim Simpson, Jeremy Higgins and Rocky Norman.

Francies Charlie ARNOLD. 75, of Success died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Thayer, Mo. He was a truck driver for Success Grain Inc., an Army veteran of World
War II and of Church of Christ faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents George William and Bessie Mae Rogers Arnold. Survivors include his
wife, Harriet Rossio Arnold of Success; two sons, Wayne Arnold and Dan Arnold, both of Mazon, Ill.; three daughters, Janice Hansen of Clinton, Ind., Nancy Holler of Mazon and Cheryl Patty of Madisonville, Tenn.; four sisters, Paralee Poyner of Mazon, Opal Yeary of Corning, Ruby Troxel of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Yvonne Hamby of Davenport, Iowa; four brothers, Newton Arnold of Florida, Everett Arnold of Port Mansfield, Texas, Loyed Arnold of Los Vegas,Nev., and Vernon Arnold of Coal City, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be on Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home
in Morris, Ill. The family requests memorials be made to Success Church of Christ or Children's Home of Paragould.

Clifford "Snow" Windell BOWLIN, 59, of Beech Grove died Monday, Nov. 3,1997, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born April 19,1938, in Stanford. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of Commissary Church of Christ in Paragould. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Drusilla Bowlin, and a brother, Glenn Mack Bowlin. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Bowlin of Stanford; three daughters, Marla Hammersley, Snoaa Metheny and Anita Newman, off of Paragould; three brothers,
Charles "Chalk" Bowlin of Memphis, Tenn., Jim Bowlin of Paragould and Weldon "Hoss" Bowlin of Livingston, Ala.
a sister, Daphne Adams of Paragould; three granddaughters, Kayle Hammersley, Jill Hammersley and Blair Metheny, all of Paragould; and a grandson, Troy
Metheny of Paragould. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with Art Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Bonnie Felty, Gary Felty, Danny Felty, Bill Woods, Keith Holifield and Bo Lenderman.

James Edward BOWLIN, 76, of Walcott died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Greene County. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and a
member of the Walcott Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in Death by his parents, Lon and Eva Key Bowlin; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Floraetta Bowlin of Walcott; a daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Sue and Brett Gibson of Paragould; two sisters, Ann Parnell and Robbie Campbell, both of Paragould; and four grandchildren, Sally Gibson, Molly
Gibson, Ty Gibson and Abby Gibson. 

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Rudy Ring officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Campbell, Nick Campbell, Mike Parnell, Keith Downs, Jerry Evans and Michael Rackley.

Dale MURPHY, 62, of Paragould died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Craighead County. He was the owner of Dale's Plumbing in Paragould. 

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Murphy of Paragould; a son, Roger Dale Murphy of Lake City; a daughter, Regina McGee of Jonesboro; four stepsons, Terry Richey of Pevely, Mo., Greg Richey of Bloomdale, Mo., Keith Richey of Valley Mines, Mo., and Randy Richey of St. Louis, Mo.' two stepdaughters, Janet Richey and Judy Sharp, both of Paragould; a brother, Bruce Murphy of Jonesboro; two
sisters, Louise Frame and Bonnie Bynum, both of Lake City; and 12 grandchildren. 

The funeral will be a 1:30 p.m. today at Mitchell Funeral in Paragould with Raymond Clark officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Keith Richey, Terry Richey, Greg
Richey and Randy Richey.

Judy Ann WAGSTER, 42, of Harviell, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born April 11, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., She was a graduate of Poplar Bluff State School for the
Handicapped. She was formerly employed by the Sheltered Work Shop in Poplar Bluff and had previously attended the Lone Oak General Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Wagster. Survivors include her father, Virgil Wagster of Harviell; and four aunts, Ruby May of Paragould,Moreda Glass of Broseley, Mo., Leona Aldridge of Centrelia, Mo., and Wanda Wagster of Poplar Bluff. 

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk, Mo. Visitation will begin at 6  tonight at the funeral home.

Paula Mae LLOYD, 71, of Paragould died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. She was born June 8, 1926, in DeWitt and was a homemaker and member of Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Lloyd, and her parents, Henry D. and Molly Brown Rogers. Survivors include a son, Roger Eason of Colt; a daughter Betty Jo Gunter of Russellville; six grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren. 

A graveside funeral will begin at 1 p.m. today at
Little Rock National Cemetery with Butch Roshto and Worley Ferguson officiating. 

The family requests memorials be made to Children's Home of Paragould and the humane society.

James C. BOHANNON, 72, of North Little Rock died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. The retired director of transportation with the Arkansas State Department of
Education, he also was a former coach at Dover High School, North Little Rock High School and Greene County Tech. After his retirement, he became involved in Government Agency Sales at Crow-Burlingame Co. where he retired in 1996, for the second time. He was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Sherwood and served on the school board of Victory Baptist Schools. He also was a member of the Sertoma Club.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pillow Bohannon of North Little Rock; two sons, Mark Bohannon of Arlington, Texas and James T. Higgins of Bryant; a daughter-in-law, Karla Higgins and two granddaughters, Shelby and Regan
Higgins. 

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Sherwood with the Revs.Tom Hart and John Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Knot Cemetery in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the North Little Rock Funeral Home. 

Memorial may be made to Victory Baptist Church.

Merrietta CHILDRESS, 71 of Paragould died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1926, in Greene County. A secretary at Turbo Ice Co., Inc, she was a member of Griffin Memorial United Methodist Church and the Paragould Women's Bowling League. 

Survivors include her husband, Bennie Childress of Paragould; a son, Mike Childress of Cherokee Village; a brother, William Gwyn of Merced, Calif.; three sisters, Mildred Shasteen of San Dimas, Calif., Imogene Carter of Woodland, Calif., and Margaret Gibbs of North Little Rock; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Laws, and Chad Peddigrew. 

The funeral is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould, with Everett Isom officiating. Burial will be at Center Hill Cemetery with Marks Coates, Don Browning, Glen Wade, Phillip Miles, Jerry Sullivan and Ron Winn serving as pallbearers. Mike Baldridge, Allen Laws, Jerry Baldridge, Dick Miles, Bobby N. Childress, Mark Childress, Gary Childress and Darrell Childress will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Wendell Don MORROW, 57, of Paragould died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at Methodist Hospital of Jonesboro. He was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Greene County. He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight Systems, Inc. He was a member of Teamsters Union for 27 years, Ducks Unlimited and Woods Chapel Methodist Church in Paragould.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Garner Morrow of Paragould, his parents, James and Sylvia Eubanks Morrow of Stanford; and a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley Keith and Michelle Morrow of Paragould; a sister Janie Morrow Smelser of Dexter, Mo. 

The funeral will be a 2 p.m. today at Health Funeral Home in Paragould with L.R. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Willie, Bill McLaughlin, Charlie Newsom, Glenus Forrester, Stanley Garner and Allen Dehm. Jewell "Mick" HOGLAND, 75. of Paragould died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Greene County. She was the former owner of Hogland's Grocery Store and former employee of Ed White Shoe Co.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin and Gladys Mays; her husband, Lester Hogland; a son, Michael Goodman, a sister, Norma Jean Shewmaker; and five  brothers, John D. May, Calvin May, Jr., Lonnie May, Charles May and Huey P. May. Survivors include two daughter, Jackie Craig and Lesta Gardner, both of Paragould; a brother, Bob May of West Memphis; three sisters, Jennie Pribble of Prescott, Ariz., and Sue Owens and Maxine Brookhouse, both of Paragould; five 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on today at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Junior Vester officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Truman Exum, Lonnie May, David Owens, Mike Coffel, Shane May and John May.

Thelma Lee PETTY, 72, of West Memphis died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. 

Survivors include her husband,Leon Petty of West Memphis; a daughter, Legatha Hayes of Centerpoint, Ind.; three sons, Joe H. Odom of Paragould, James T. Odom of Bartlett, Tenn. and Donny M. Odom of Marion; a sister Jenny Sanders of Carthage, Miss.; three brothers, Bill Tolleson, Lamar Tolleson and Aaron Tolleson, all of Kosciusko, Miss., nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

The funearl will be a 1 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Burial will be at Crittended Memorial Park in Marion.

Jones Arlon SMITH, 75, of Swartz Creek, Mich., a native of Beech Grove, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso, Mich. He was bron March 12, 1922, in Beech Grove. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing in 1984 after working there 38 years. He was a member of Bristol Road Church of Christ in Flint, Mich. He served in the Armn Air Corps during World War
II and was a member of Davison Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4087 and United Auto Workers local 659. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and
Beatrice Williams Smith; and a son, Philip Smith. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Butler Smith of Swartz Creek; two sons and daughter-in-laws,Gregory and Donna Smith and Stephen and Lisa Smith, all of Flint; two
granddaughters, Erin Smith and Stacey Smith, both of Flint; two brothers,Carlton Smith of Beech Grove and Garland Smith of Paragould; two sisters, Carolyn Heinnemann of St.Louis, Mo and Janice Smith of Paragould.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Health Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Everett Isom officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould. Ethel Louise FINN, 87, of Paragould, formerly of Little Rock, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Fayetteville. She retired from the Soil Conservation Office in Little Rock and was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Paragould. 

Survivors include a brother, Paul Mussennix of Ardmore, Okla.; a nephew, Mike Mullennix of Los Lunas, N.M.; and two neices, Mary Myers of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Martha Sellers of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Paragould. The funeral will be at 7 tonight at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Dennis Scudder and Bill Waller officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mayo Lamb Peterson NORMAN, 89. of Wynne, formerly of Paragould, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at her home. She was born Aug. 2, 1908, in Beech Grove. She spent the early part of her life in Paragould. In the 1930's she moved to Wynne, where she and her husband, Dr. Thomas A. Peterson, started a medical practice in 1940. They built the Peterson Clinic, which was in operation
until 1970. She had extensive farming properties near Wynne and Walcott. She was a member of Wynne Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death, Dr.Thomas A Peterson and Bill Norman; and her parents Dr. John H. and Nora Lee Tyner Lamb. Survivors include two nieces, Susan Griffith of Jackson, Miss., and Judith Rittenhouse of Mesa, Ariz.; three grand-nephews, Loren Lamb of Minneapolis-St. Paul,, Minn., Lewis Beard of Jackson and Thomas Tucker of
Ewa Beach, Hawaii; and two grand-nieces, Molly Lamb of Minneapolis-St. Paul and April Tucker of Mesa. 

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kernodle
Funeral Home in Wynne with the Rev. J. Wesley George officiating. A graveside service and burial will follow a 2 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.

Veva Marie HENDERSON, 96, of Inverness, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at New Oorizon Senior Citizen Nursing Home in Inverness. She was born Oct. 15,
1907, in Greene Cunty. She was a seamstress and of Baptist faith. She was a former resident of this area and had lived in Florida since 1991. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Henderson, and her parents, Archie and Sarah Hartsoe. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Sue Goddard of
Inverness; a brother, Joseph Hartsoe of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell uneral Home in Rector with the Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Effie Hopper Bowen, 89, of Paragould died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997 at Paragould Nursing Center. Mrs. Bowen was born Feb. 4, 1908 in Dyersburg, Tenn. She was a retired manicurist and a member of the Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ. 

Survivors include her husband, Montie Brown of Paragould and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Mitchell Funeral Home with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh
Cemetery.

Lorene H. Cullen, 79, of Jonesboro died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 at her home. Mrs. Cullen was born July 22, 1918 in Rosie. She was retired from Indian Mall and the Singer Company, and a member of the Apple Hill Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Cullen and one brother.

Survivors include four daughters, Pat Wilson of Jonesboro, Mary Brown of Olive Branch, Miss., Freeda Chandler of St. Louis, Mo., and Bonnie Rasche of
Kennett, Mo.; one brother, John Earl Collins of Michigan; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 10, 1997 at Farmers Union Funeral Home with Mearl Henry officiating. Burial
followed at Monetee Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mrs. Cullen's grandsons. Honrary pallbearers include members of the Apple Hill Church of Christ.

Ernida Hartwig, 88, of Success died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 at Westwood Hills Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Mrs. Hartwig was born Oct. 16, 1909 in Elsberry, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of the Landmark Extension Homemakers Club for 50 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest P. and Ida Mae Verdier Bibb, her husband, Emil K. Hartwig; one brother, Thomas Bibb; one sister, Vida Johnson and one granchild, Daniel Hartwig. Survivors include one son, Sterling Hartwig of Corning; two daughters, Martha Dean Spence of Gerald, Mo., and Norma Jean Haag of St. Louis County, Mol. twelve grandchildren, eight grand-children; and four step-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 10, 1997 at Ermert Funeral Home. Burial took place at Black Cemetery in Success.

Mildred Pruett SONGER, 81, of Paragould died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Songer was born Dec. 8, 1915 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Songer was born Dec. 8, 1915 in Paragould. She was
a retired Medical Record Librarian at the Community Methodist Hospital and was a Methodist. 

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ernest Pruett and Daniel Songer; and one son, Jim Pruett, Survivors include on son, Jerry G.Pruett of Shortsville, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at Mitchell Funeral Home. Burial took place at Linwood Cemetery.

Hershel W. WOODHAM, 81, of Cherry Valley died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997 at his home. Mr. Woodham was born Sept. 18, 1916 in Cross County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Whitehall Church of Christ. He was one of the original Board members of Farmers Supply Association in Harriburg, a member of Farmers Union, and Riceland Foods. He served on the Cherry Valley City Council. Mr. Woodham was an avid sports fan and loved car racing, bowling, hurting and fishing. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William
Sherman and Ada Mae Henderson Woodham; one son, Donald Woodham; one daughter, Henrietta Woodham; one brother, Howard Woodham; three sisters, Mae Hogan, Addie Ezell, and Dottie Casey. 

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997 at Harrisburg Church of Christ with Jerry Morgan officiating and Greg Brooks and Gene Catterton assisting. Burial followed at Tyre Cemetery in Cherry Valley.

D. L. Cochran, 76, of Barnhart, Mo., formerly of Corning, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997 in St. Louis, Mo. He was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Palatka. He was a farmer and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Corning Church of Christ. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarance and Ida Ballard Cocharn; and two borthers, Shelby Cochran and Chares Cochrann. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Cochran of Barnhart; two daughters, Sherian Panagos of Barnhart and Cathy Johnson of Imperial, Mo.; a brother, Russell
Cochran of Rockford, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lewis Daniel HANSBROGH, 93, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Paragould, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born, Oct. 31, 1904, in the Hopewell community near Rector. He was a math teacher and worked for the Employment Security Division in Paragould until moving to Columbia in 1953. He taught math at Jefferson High and West Jefferson High in Columbia from 1953 to 1969. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Columbia. He was a member of Snead Class and a deacon of First Baptist Church of Columbia. He had lived in the Lenoir Retirement Community since 1981. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Mayo
Hansborugh; his parents, William Jefferson and Eleanor Snider Newson Hansbrough; and three sisters. Survivors includ a son, David Hansbrough of Redmond, Wash.; a daughter, Nina McCosh of Haverhill, Mass., five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia.

Hazel Teresa MOORE, 96, of Fredericktown, Mo., formerly of this area, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Stockoff Nursing Home. She was born July 3, 1902, in McLeansboro, Ill. She was a homemaker. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Moore, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huffstutler.

Tommy MURPHY, 72, of Paragould died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at his home. He was born Marcy 21, 1925, in El Dorado. He was retired from Allied Chemicals in Baton Rough, La. He was a Navy veteran in World War II and of the Methodist faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Myrtis
Murphy. U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Palatka Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Mildred Watson Sells; his mother-in-law, Octavia Hawkins and two brothers, Clyfton Sells and Junior Sells.

Noel Frost SHELTON, 74, of Little Rock, formerly of Paragould, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at Williamsburg Nursing Center in Little Rock. He was born May 30, 1923, in Clarksville. He was a retired printer from White Printing Co. in Paragould. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War 2 and attended Clark Chapel Church in Paragould. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ethel Goodman Shelton, and his parents, Allie M. and Ruth Frost Shelton. Survivors include a son, Tom Shelton of El Dorado; a daughter Lynell Jones of Little Rock; a brother, John Shelton of Jonesboro; and four grandchildren, Chris Jones and Jennifer Jones, both of Little Rock, and Kevin Shelton and Gina Shelton, both of El Dorado.

He was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wood, and his parents, James Monroe and Laura "Dean" Guess Wood. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Wallace of Walls; a son, Ronnie Wallace of Walls; a daughter, Sue Wallace of Atlanta, Ga; seven brothers, John Gill and Tom Gill, Jr., both of Texas, Clifford Gill of Michigan, Darrell Gill of Greenbrier, and Leland Gill, Galen Gill and Donald Gill, all of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ronnie Lee Wallace, Jr., Mark Aaron Wallace and Linda Jones; and three great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be at 1:30 Thursday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Ken Joines officiating. Burial will be in Clark's Chapel Cemetery. Visitaion will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randy Wallace, Joel Stanfill, Darrell Gatlin, Charles Gatlin, Gary Taylor and James Tilly.

Judy Gail Wilkerson, 50, of Paragould died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. The funeral arrangements are
pending with Ermert Funeral Home of Corning.

James Vernon FELTS, 75, of Paragould died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at Paragould Nursing Center. He was born July 17, 1922 in Mississippi County. He was a retired medical technician and X-ray technician, working 47 years at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was of Baptist faith. 

Survivors include his wife, Frieda Felts of Paragould; a son, Kevi Felts of Paragould, two daughters, Felton
Magby of Benton and Martha Leventhal of Suskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada; three brothers, Melton Felts of San Jose, Calif., John Felts of Forrest City and Martin Felts, of LaPorte, Texas; a sister Edna Cagle of Luxora; and seven grandchildren. 

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Lou Leventhal officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould. Pallbearers will be David Shedd, Steven Shedd, Omer Shedd, Gerry Donner, Allen Donner and Larry Cagle. 

The family requests memorials be made to east Side Baptist Church, the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home or Arkansas Sheriffs' Boys and Girls Ranches in Batesville.

Milen Wayne GONSER, 61 of Modesto, Calif., formerly of Marmaduke, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at his home. He was of Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Bertie Gillmore Gonser of Modesto; four sons, Larry Gonser, Doyle Ray Gonser, Timmy Gonser and Ricky Gonser, all of California; a daughter, Sharon Kay Gonser of California; three brothers, Dwight Gonser and Odell Gonser, both of Paragould, and O'Neal Gonser of Tennessee; three sisters, Juanita Wright of Lafe, Lavada Montgomery of Paragould and Carolyn Vaughn of Wynne; and several grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hotchkiss Funeral Home in Tracy, Calif. Burial will follow in Calif.
