Mary Cordelia Riggs


Mary Cordelia Riggs, 80, of Paragould died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born April 20, 1920, in Lake City. She was a homemaker and member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Lester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Roxie Deloris Cavins McCartney.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Marion Riggs of Paragould; two sons, Michael Riggs of Nashville, Tenn., and Robert W. "Bob" Riggs of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Barbara Cox and Jean Edwards, both of Paragold and Patti Hale of Burdette; a sister, Mildred Wood of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Godfrey Endicott officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

P.C. Routon


P.C. Routon, 76, of Marmaduke died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
He was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Pottsville. He was a retired farmer and World War II Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Pearl Routon; a son, Tommy Routon; two brothers, Buck Routon and Paul Routon; and three sisters, Ethel Mallett, Beatrice Gibson and Thelma Snider.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Routon of the home; three sons, Ralph Routon of Paragould, Mike Routon of Petal, Miss., and Dennis Routon of Lafe; two daughters, Judy Routon of Paragould and Connie Collier of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Donald Routon of Paragould, Bob Routon of Leachville, Jerry Routon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Eugene Routon of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Donnie Hall of Lepanto; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Raymond Routon officiating. Burial will be at Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.

Joe Sabo

 
Joe Sabo, 84, of Walcott died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at St. Bernard' Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Heath Funeral Home in Paragould.

Bobbie Jean Carr


Bobbie Jean Carr, 70, of Paragould died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Greene County. She was a homemaker and member of 10th Street Baptist Church in Paragould.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Carr; and her parents, Roosevelt and Maude Jones Blackburn.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Carr of Paragould; two sons, Barry Carr of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Ronnie Carr of Cabot; a daughter, Debbie Slover of St. Charles, Mo.; two brothers, Danny Blackburn of St. Louis, Mo., and Kenneth Blackburn of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a sister, Verna Eldridge of Benton Harbor, Mich.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Revs. Freddie Jones and Jack Bearden officiating. Burial will be at Finch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hershel Emmert, Jim Biggs, Darrell Rowland, Don Slover, Wayne Carr and Larry Carr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
